The compositions suitably produce a minimal residual whitening effect when applied to a skin surface.

The method provides for the steps of excising skin from a patient, cooling the skin to make it brittle, pulverizing the brittle skin, extracting collagen from the pulverized skin with an acid solution, evaporating off the acid and then solubilizing the resulting powder to form an injectable.
