Patents Assigned to Fast Heat Element Mfg. Co., Inc.
  • Patent number: 4721847
Abstract: A electric runner distributor heater for use in passageway of a mold into which a flow stream of fluid plastic material is introduced and which in turn communicates with a plurality of sprue orifices. The heater includes a metal casing having an exposed surface over which the fluid material is directed at an elevated temperature, a plurality of unsheathed electrical heating elements disposed in respective zones of the casing corresponding to the location of selected of the sprue orifices, heat transmitting material compacted in the bore of the casing and surrounding each heating element for electrically insulating the heating element from the casing and filling all air voids between the casing and heating element to effect direct heat transfer to the casing from the heating element, leads coupling the heating elements to a power source, and a control for independently controlling the temperature of the heating elements and thus the temperature of respective zones of the casing.

  • Patent number: 4492556
Abstract: A unitary integral electrically heated nozzle device for plastic molding or die casting equipment which has a novel casing integral with a heater core, which is insulated to prevent conduction of electricity and loss of thermal transmission to the casing, the electrical insulation being compacted within the casing and around the heater core and the assembly being sealed and swaged into a unitary form, said device being structured to heat the area of a gate or passage for delivery of molten material into a forming cavity. The nozzle device may be shaped, and the nozzle systems include such nozzle devices in the gate channels for delivering molten material to the forming cavity.

  • Patent number: 4203197
Abstract: An electric band heater of low expansion characteristics having an integral ceramic core with resistance wire sandwiched therein and encased within a metal housing, the core being formed from a wire wound ceramic sheet sandwiched between ceramic sheets; and a method for making such a heater which includes the steps of arranging an assembly of a wire wound organic-ceramic core strip between organic-ceramic insulator strips and placing the same within a metal housing, compressing and forming the assembly and then heating the assembly to bake out organic binder materials and sinter ceramic materials into a ceramic mass.
