Abstract: An improved support element for a shelf divider, label, and sign holder system. The support element includes a substantially U-shaped rigid plastic shell which may be adhesively affixed to the upper surface of a shelf to support a shelf divider. The support element includes elongated flexible ridges or beads within a support element channel, the free ends of which are spaced from and face the interior surface that defines the channel. The ridges are compressible to exert a gripping force on the item to be retained. The support element can also be part of a label and sign holder system. Both a single and double-facing support element is provided to interact with a label holder locking strip.

Abstract: A label holder including a transparent cover member overlying a main body panel to form a label-receiving pocket connectable to a flat front face shelf without tape. The main body panel faces the front face of the shelf. The label holder includes an attachment structure for attaching the label holder to a horizontally oriented shelf lip by defining a U-shaped slot or gap. The attachment structure includes a concave portion, preferably U-shaped, that is elastically stretchable or deformable. This allows stretching of the attachment structure to accommodate different depths of the shelf lip.

Abstract: A versatile label holder adapted to be stably secured in C-channels of various widths such as are found in Lozier, Madix and Streater shelves without significantly modifying the angle normally presented with each of these shelves. The label holder includes a rearwardly extending leg adapted to be captured by the lower lip of the C-channel, a portion of which is resilient and arcuate, extending first upwardly and then downwardly to provide a spring-like element, the effective length of which can vary depending on the spacing between the lips of the C-channel.

Abstract: A merchandising shelf label holder, particularly for holding or carrying an electronic shelf label (ESL), with an integral protective mechanism, including a bumper to withstand impacts from shopping carts and the like. The bumper includes a substantially semicircular bulbous section extending in a direction away from the shelving and further away from the shelving than the ESL and that curves back toward the shelving with a vertical plate that is in contact with the shelving or extension thereof. The protective mechanism also includes a rear support stop member that engages the label holder when impacted.

Abstract: An elongated, forwardly extending product information tag preferably die-cut from a thin sheet of plastics material to provide an integral proximal mounting portion, an elongated intermediate portion and a distal display portion, wherein the display portion includes a die-cut area defining, in one embodiment, a pair of spaced lower flexible tabs for engagement under the spring clips on the back of a standard ESL, and an upper elongated flexible flap for engagement over the top of the back of the ESL into the standard slotted area provided therein. In a second embodiment, the display portion includes a die-cut area of rectangular configuration.

Abstract: A label holder is hingedly connected to a clip portion grippingly engaged over a transversely extending rod at the distal end of a merchandise aid, such as a scanner hook or the like, or over a plate on the end of a scanner hook enabling the label holder to be moved forwardly to access or position product on the scanner hook, or, in some applications, rearwardly in the event of impact from a passerby. By selecting the properties of the hinge section, the label holder can be temporarily fixed in a selected angular relationship when the scanner hook extends above or below the eye of a viewer to facilitate reading information on labels carried thereby.

Abstract: Electronic shelf label (ESL) carriers including an attachment member to be secured to a supporting surface such as a C-channel, a holder member with tabs for removably receiving and supporting the ESLs, and a cover member pivotally carried by the top or the bottom of the holder member to overly and protect the ESLs. The attachment member and the holder member include interengageable complementary adjustment elements to enable the ESLs to be displayed at a zero angle or a positive or negative angular orientation relative to the supporting surface. In one embodiment, the attachment member has a pair of forwardly extending legs each of which include a pair of spaced cavities, with the holder member including upper and lower elements with complementary protrusions which can be selectively engaged in the cavities to adjust the viewing angle.

Abstract: A label holder for use in a moist environment including a body panel connected at its lower edge by a resilient hinge to a transparent cover member to form an openable pocket for labels therebetween. The body panel is secured to a supporting surface by adhesive or may include an attachment panel connected to the rear of the body panel by a resilient spacer so that the attachment panel can be flexed for engagement in a C-channel. A downwardly and forwardly extending lip is formed on the top edge of the body panel and the top edge of the cover member is secured thereunder in the closed position of the cover member. A downwardly and forwardly extending ledge member is formed on the top edge of the cover member and extends beyond the lip member to a freely extending edge to dissipate moisture forming on the lip member. The mating side edges of the body panel may be sealed with strips of a resilient material to limit moisture from entering the label-receiving pocket.

Abstract: A label holder including a transparent cover member overlying a label-receiving pocket with complementary male and female locking elements snappingly engageable with each other to selectively secure the pocket, and a release element to disengage the locking elements.

Abstract: A label holder or label/sign holder to be secured to a merchandise-supporting shelf devoid of a C-channel on its depending front lip. An adaptor element is secured to the supporting surface of the shelf as by push pins and has a forwardly extending portion defining a hook member engageable in a lip member defined at the upper edge of the body panel of the label holder without interfering with movement of a transparent cover member on the label holder to insert or remove labels from a pocket defined therebetween. Various embodiments of rearwardly extending flanges on the back of the body panel are adapted to secure the lower portions of the label holder to or around a rearwardly extending flange on the bottom of the shelf lip.

Abstract: A label holder including a transparent cover member overlying a main body panel to define therebetween a lockable label-receiving pocket. The cover member is normally biased to a closed position by a hinge interconnecting the lower edges of the cover member and the main body panel, and being movable about the hinge to an open position to spread a gap at the top of the pocket for insertion and removal of labels from the pocket. A dust cover is provided to span and seal the gap when the cover member is in its closed position without interfering with the locking feature.

Abstract: A merchandising aid in the nature of a combined label/sign holder wherein a sign holder is carried directly by the cover member of the label holder so that the label holder pocket can be readily accessed for insertion or replacement of non-adhesive labels therein without interference from the sign holder. Incorporation of sign holder-supporting members on the cover member of a label holder is shown as particularly advantageous in label holders having locking portions designed to preclude the accidental movement of labels carried thereby. Upper and/or lower grips may also be formed on the cover member to slidingly receive and removably retain additional labels and/or signs without interfering with other merchandise information members.

Abstract: A product identification and information tag of sheet material for overlying an elongated support hook, wherein the mounting portion of the tag is frictionally engaged over projections on a saddle member carried by the hook itself. The length of the tag can be readily adjusted without the need for extraneous tools such as scissors or the like. The mounting portion of the tag is provided with a series of longitudinally spaced mounting apertures with alternating fold and tear lines spaced midway between adjacent apertures whereby the mounting portion may be folded onto itself to align adjacent apertures, transversely tom, or even transversely tom and then folded on itself to provide the tag with different effective lengths.

Abstract: A transparent sheet material sign holder having upper and lower reverted flaps to slidably receive a paper, cardboard or plastic sign behind a transparent main body panel. The upper flap is adapted for engagement between the upper and lower lips of a C-channel on the front of a merchandise shelf. Independent portions of the upper flap are of a reduced height so as to retain the upper edge portions of the sign in the event the sign holder is flexed forwardly at its bottom edge. The C-channel-engaging flap portions can be centrally located, with independent side portions of a smaller height. Alternatively, the sign-retaining portions of a smaller height can be simply defined by a U-shaped cut in the upper flap. Similar sign-retaining portions can be provided on upper and lower flaps of different dimensions so that the sign holder can be inverted for engagement in C-channel of different heights while independently retaining a sign in the sign holder.

Abstract: A universal two-piece label holder system for hooks of various sizes and configurations, including single and double rod or U-shaped loop hooks, comprises a versatile ring-shaped saddle having a plurality of peripherally spaced clasps of different dimensions, at least one of which will grippingly engage a single rod hook, with an adjacent clasp slidingly engaging the second rod of a double rod or loop hook at a selected position along the length of the hook. An elongated plastic tag or overlay, preferably having a label holder at its distal end, is adapted to overlie the hook, with side edge portions of the tag engaged by flanges on the saddle and a selected one of a plurality of spaced openings along the intermediate portion of the tag engaged over a projection on the saddle to thereby limit movement of the tag relative to the saddle both laterally and longitudinally and to arcuately flex the tag to rigidify the same.

Abstract: A label holder for displaying information-containing non-adhesive labels or signs on a channel member at the front of a variety of forms of merchandise shelves in a supermarket or the like, particularly adapted for secure support and ready attachment to both Streator and Lozier type shelf systems wherein the height and configuration of the channel members are different. The label holder may be a co-extrusion of an opaque body panel and a transparent cover resiliently connected along their lower edges to define a label-receiving pocket therebetween. An upwardly and rearwardly extending leg member is integral with the rear of the body panel and underlies and extends behind the channel member. A lower finger is also carried by the rear of the body panel and is biasingly engaged with the upper surface of the lower flange of the channel member. An upper finger is provided on the upper edge of the body panel and is biasingly engaged with the lower surface of the upper flange of the channel member.
