Abstract: A filter element comprises a perforated metal tube on outer and inner sides of which filter layers are disposed. A plastic terminal disk 4 is disposed at an axial end of the tube and includes a metal fastening screw. A wire is embedded in the terminal disk and electrically connects the support tube with the fastening screw so that an electrical charge taken up from the liquid to be filtered is conducted away through the wire.
Abstract: In a filtering apparatus several elongated filter elements are located parallel to each other in a housing chamber. Free ends of the filter elements are connected by means of a narrow support member fastened to the housing. Arms are pivotingly adjustably connected to the support member. The arms include slots for receiving a threaded spindle projecting from the filter elements. The arms can be swung out of the way to permit insertion of the filter elements and then rotated until the slot becomes aligned with the spindle. Thus, the filter elements can be installed separately and sequentially.
Abstract: A tubular filter element for liquid filters comprises a perforated support pipe. Disposed around the inside of the support pipe is a tubular filter layer which comprises a folded sheet of filter material. Within each end of the filter element a spring washer is disposed for biasing the end of the tubular filter layer outwardly against the inside of the support pipe. In this pre-biased state, the ends of the filter element are joined to disks by means of a hardenable casting material.
Abstract: A filter and water separator for use with liquid hydrocarbons such as aircraft fuel includes a horizontally directed housing and within the housing a first set of filtering and coalescing elements connected to the inlet port of the housing and a parallel arranged set of separating elements arranged parallel to the filtering elements and communicating with the outlet ports in the housing. Each separating element is provided in its interior with a coaxially arranged hollow cylinder communicating at one end with the outlet port and having an inlet opening at its opposite end. The cylindrical wall of the hollow cylinder is formed with a plurality of inlet openings, the combined cross-section of which increases from the end face inlet opening toward the outlet port.
Abstract: An arrangement for mounting elongated dividing or separating elements in a filtering water separator has a stationary mounting plate with a plurality of openings, a tensioning member axially abutting against the mounting plate, a central spindle member extending through the respective opening of the mounting plate and connected with the tensioning member and a receiving member arranged to receive an end of the dividing or separating element, axially abutting against the tensioning member, and including a flange part which is axially spaced from the mounting plate, and a projecting part extending with play into the opening of the mounting plate and sealed against the latter.
