  • Patent number: 9657652
Abstract: A valve assembly has a housing with a first inlet, a second inlet, a first outlet, and a second outlet. A first flow path is between the first inlet and the first outlet, a second flow path is between the second inlet and the first outlet, and a third flow path is between the first inlet and the second outlet. A closure element is movably supported in the housing and in a by-pass position opens the first flow path and closes at least the second flow path, and in a normal position closes the first flow path and opens the second flow path and the third flow path. A flow guiding element is on the closure element, and which in the normal position protrudes into the second flow path and is coupled to the closure element to urge, in a gas flow from the second inlet to the first outlet, the closure element into the normal position. • Patent number: 9624800
Abstract: A vaporizer for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine has a vaporizer tube and a holding sleeve in which the vaporizer tube is inserted. A clamping sleeve sits on the vaporizer tube. The vaporizer tube includes two circumferentially surrounding clamping surfaces which protrude in a radial direction and cooperate with the holding sleeve and the clamping sleeve such that the clamping surfaces are clamped between the holding sleeve and the clamping sleeve by an axial clamping force to be gastight. At least one of the holding sleeve and the clamping sleeve includes a surrounding sealing edge which rests against the respective clamping surface via a line contact and forms an annular sealing seat. The vaporizer further includes a device preventing relative rotation between the holding sleeve and the vaporizer tube. A heater of the vaporizer is attached to the vaporizer tube using a resistance welding method.

  • Patent number: 9534723
Abstract: A brazing method connects an assembly made up of a pipe, a component provided with an opening, and a compensation element. The compensation element includes a support section and an insertion section that is arranged between an end of the pipe and the opening of the component. An inside diameter of the compensation element is smaller than a diameter of the opening in the component. The insertion section is inserted into the end of the pipe, and the support section is located between the pipe and the component and rests on the component at the edge of the opening. The compensation element, the pipe, and the component are heated, preferably inductively, in a region of the compensation element to a temperature above the melting temperature of brazing material that is present in the region of the brazing points.

  • Patent number: 8997352
Abstract: A method for manufacturing exhaust gas ducting devices provides each device with an outer housing having an insert clamped therein, wherein the insert comprises a substrate traversed by exhaust gas, and an elastic compensating element surrounding the substrate. The method includes spreading each individual compensating element on a base and deforming the compensating element substantially vertical to the base by exerting a pressure such that the entire compensating element is subjected to a full-surface load. Then a setpoint deformation of the compensating element is determined, which is necessary to achieve a specified setpoint pressure. The method further includes determining at least one parameter of the substrate individually, placing the compensating element around the substrate, and mounting the insert thus obtained in an outer housing having inside dimensions that correspond to outside dimensions of the insert with the determined setpoint deformation.
