Abstract: An electrical connector including a housing; and a plurality of first ground contacts. The first ground contacts each comprise a male contact blade configured to be inserted into a contact channel of a housing of a mating electrical connector. The male contact blade has a portion configured to contact the housing of the mating electrical connector, after the male contact blade makes electrical contact with the deflectable beam, to move the male contact blade in the contact channel, increase deflection of the deflectable beam by the male contact blade, and increase or maintain normal force between the mating contact and the ground contact generally.
Abstract: Connector (1) for flexible printed circuit (FPC) (3) comprising a connector housing (5) including an insertion slot (4) adapted to receive the FPC (3). The connector comprises a shield (18) adapted to be electrically connected to a ground path (2a) of a circuit substrate (2) on which the connector (1) is to be mounted. Said insertion slot (4) comprises a signal side corresponding to conductive tracks (29) of the FPC and a ground side (26a) opposite to said signal side. The shield comprises at least one electrically conductive tooth (25), movable from a retracted position outside the insertion slot (4), to a protruding position where said tooth (25) protrudes from the ground side (26a) to the inside of the insertion slot (4).

Abstract: A cable bolt button comprising a continuous sidewall having a first end, a second end and an end portion attached to the first end of the sidewall, forming an inner cavity. The cable bolt button forms an interference fit between the sidewall of the cable bolt button and a cable bolt when the button is placed over the distal end of the cable bolt. The cable bolt button may also include a plurality of protrusions extending outwardly from the end portion away from the inner cavity and/or at least one recess. The protrusions may be separate features of the end portion or the first end of the sidewall may have a non-linear profile with the periphery of the end portion following the profile of the sidewall to form the protrusions and recesses. The end portion may also comprise a plurality of intersecting surfaces further shaping the protrusions and recesses.

Abstract: A method of forming a bulb in a cable bolt includes providing cable from a cable source, advancing the cable in a first direction, and forming a bulb in a portion of the cable while the portion of the cable is continuously advanced and while the cable is continuously provided from the cable source.
Abstract: An electrical connector system includes a plurality of electrical connectors that can be mounted onto a powered rail. Each of the electrical connectors includes a connector housing that retains an electrical contact. The powered rail includes a tapered alignment guide that receives a complementary tapered arm of the connector housing that locates into the alignment guide so as to position the connectors to the rail.
Abstract: A card-edge connector has a housing that includes a housing body, and a plurality of electrical contacts carried by the housing body. The housing is devoid of mounting ears that would extend out from the housing body. Rather, the housing includes opposing mounting guides carried by opposed housing side walls that are configured to receive a complimentary circuit board that the card-edge connector is mounted to.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrical connector for connecting flexible printed circuit (FPC) boards. The connector has a housing and contact terminals disposed in the housing. An actuator is pivotally attached to the housing. The housing has a pair of retaining members between which a holding portion is defined. An FPC board is inserted into the holding portion and fixed to the housing by the actuator to establish electrical connection with the contact terminals. Each retaining member is supported by a metal bracket which is attached to the housing to increase the holding strength. The metal bracket has a main portion, a fixing portion and a support portion both expending perpendicularly from the main portion. A pair of lugs formed at side edges of the FPC board engage with the retaining members such that back movement of the FPC board from the housing is prevented.
Abstract: Disclosed is a rock bolt comprising an elongate shaft extending between opposite leading and trailing ends and a deformed section disposed proximal to the leading end, the deformed section being configured such that a protrusion extends outwardly beyond an outer surface of the shaft.
