  • Patent number: 9215230
Abstract: An authentication method for trusted communication between a first party (A) and a second party (B) is intended to be efficient and secure. For this purpose, provision is made to combine password-based authentication and certificate-based authentication. For certificate-based authentication, the first party (A) has a static key pair consisting of a private static key and a public static key and a certificate for the public static key issued by a certification body (C). The certification body (C) is assigned a public key which is known by the second party (B). During the certificate-based authentication, the party A calculates a transformation between its own ephemeral key pair from the password-based authentication and its own static key pair from the certificate-based authentication so as to obtain a transformation parameter for carrying out the transformation.

  • Patent number: 7341289
Abstract: This invention relates to an emergency unlocking system for a motor vehicle trunk (2), with a trunk lock (6) which comprises at least one lock latch (7) and an interacting locking part (8), with a catch means (14) which limits the trunk opening motion and which comprises a catch hook (15) which can be actuated from outside the trunk (2) and an interacting catch hook engagement element (16) for canceling the motion limitation, and with an emergency unlocking means (20) which is located in the trunk (2) and which acts to open the trunk lock (6) and to release the catch means (14) when actuated. In order to offer an increased safety standard with a simple structure and to meet safety stipulations with respect to the speed-dependent allowability of emergency unlocking, the actions applied by the emergency unlocking means (20) to the trunk lock (6) and the catch means (14) are decoupled from one another.

  • Patent number: 6607480
Abstract: The invention provides a means of deriving highly reliable diagnostic information from the signals and data of medical measuring systems without first reducing the measuring data to individual characteristics and then associating these using decision trees in order to form a diagnostic conclusion. To this end, a comparator compares the measuring data recorded by a patient and provided by the sensor channels of a measuring system with measuring data which is stored in measuring databases and which is provided by comparable sensor channels of reference measuring systems. The data is compared in such a way that the reference measuring systems selected from the measuring databases are those which bear the most similarity to the measurements taken by the patient in terms of the measuring data of comparable sensor channels and which have a greatest possible number of the sensor channels which best match in terms of measuring data and which best correspond to each other.

  • Publication number: 20020034121
Abstract: The invention is directed to a bell-shaped shield (1) for use on a household appliance, particularly a hand blender or a hand mixer. The inner wall (7) of the shield (1) forms a space (6) which is accessible from below via an opening (12) through which food (36) is supplied and discharged. A blade-like processing tool (8) inside the space (6) is adapted to be set in rotation by a drive shaft (3) so that the food (36) is caught, comminuted and/or mixed by said tool. The surface of the inner wall (7) has on its circumference individual outwardly extending wall sections (51) for the formation of clearance spaces (37), said wall sections (51) serving primarily for the diversion, comminution and enhanced mixing of food, while the clearance spaces (37) are used for receiving and discharging the food (36). This configuration allows for a more intensive and thorough mixing and comminution of food (36) in a minimum of time.

  • Patent number: 5305624
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for obtaining narrow tolerances of accuracy to pe and size of a rolled product rolled in a wire mill and/or bar mill including at least two sizing stands of high stiffness wherein, with the exception of the last stand, the stands are adjustable under load. The stands cooperate with a device for determining the geometrical data of the rolled product, as well as the relevant rolling operation data. The device is mounted in front of the next-to-last stand for detecting the geometrical data of the rolled product before it enters into the next-to-last stand. The measured values are processed with a sizing model for obtaining a desired exact profile shape in the last roll stand in a computer for forming a signal which is used for adjusting the next-to-last stand.

  • Patent number: 4974960
Abstract: A laser Doppler anemometer with at least two laser beams pass to a region of a fluid flow containing particles. The scattered light is frequency shifted by the Doppler frequency resulting from the flow speed. The construction is very compact and permits a high signal-to-noise ratio for the measurement signals. The laser beams consist of high-frequency pulses, the frequency of the pulse sequence of which is a multiple of the Doppler frequency.

  • Patent number: 4923298
Abstract: In a device for measuring the speed of moving light-scattering objects by means of laser beams, with which a periodic intensity distribution (4) is produced at the measuring point (3), and by means of a detecting device (5, 7; 8, 9, 10) for light scattered by the object, it is possible to produce the periodic intensity distribution in a simple fashion with a laser diode array (1) in which a plurality of laser diodes are arranged at a defined separation from one another. Light emitted by the laser diode is focussed at the measuring point (3) with a focusing optical system (2). In addition, when measuring speed it is possible to discriminate direction by arranging the laser diode array (1, 13) such that no emission occurs in at least one such location (11') of the laser diode (11), so that an asymmetric intensity distribution is produced at the measuring point (3).
