  • Patent number: 5114116
Abstract: An electromagnetically actuated, quick-action hydraulic switching valve has a pressure-balanced seating valve arrangement and an electromagnetic actuator means. The electromagnetic actuator means comprises a core and an armature for actuating the valve, the core and the armature defining a working air gap. The armature is part of the core and is in the form of a sleeve member mounted slidably on a guide pin which is pressed in position in the housing. The seating valve arrangement is formed by an annular edge defined by a central bore in the armature on the one hand and on the other hand, either a taper surface on the guide pin or a ball with a bore therethrough. Using the same armature, the valve can be designed to operate either as a valve which is open in the currentless condition or as a valve which is closed in the currentless condition.

  • Patent number: 5040747
Abstract: A gripping and locking arrangement for an aircraft movable component such as a flap door or undercarriage comprises a piston and a piston rod operative as a means for sensing a closing movement of the flap door or undercarriage, and also operative automatically actively to pull same by means of a closing hook into a position in which it is to be locked. The arrangement includes a locking member displaceable within the piston to move lock elements into a locking position and to hold them in the locking position until the arrangement receives a hydraulic pressure signal for causing lowering of the flap door or undercarriage, and the locking member is then displaced whereby the lock elements move into a release position. The hydraulic oil pressure can then act on the piston to produce displacement thereof into a position in which the closing hook releases the flap door or undercarriage component.

  • Patent number: 4601169
Abstract: Check device for a redundant flight control apparatus comprising at least two servo drive devices. Failure in supplying fluid and wedging of a control valve (20) can be simulated. Failure of the bypass valve (35) can be checked by reading and comparing the volume flows of the respective pumps as well as by evaluating the travelling rate of the servo drives (1, 2) by the pilot.

  • Patent number: 4454800
Abstract: An active, mechanical hydraulic control device for vehicles including watercraft and aircraft, comprises an acceleration pick-up having a relatively small mass. Movements of the mass are sensed by a nozzle and deflection plate system which controls as a preamplifier the displacement of a power drive member provided with one or more control apertures, the flow cross-sectional areas of which depend on the instantaneous position of a piston to which the power drive member is connected. The movements of the mass vary the gap width between the nozzle or nozzles and the deflection plate forming part of the movable mass. The change in the gap width controls the adjustment or displacement of the power drive member through a follower amplifier formed by the piston. The central or balanced position of the piston is assured by the control apertures forming respective piston position responsive valves.

  • Patent number: 4202252
Abstract: A throughput-adjustable fluid-displacement machine includes a stator and a rotor which is supported on the stator for rotation about an axis. The stator has two axially spaced circumferentially extending cam tracks and the rotor has two sets of passages therein, each of the passages having an open end which always faces a different one of the cam tracks for each of the sets of passages. A plurality of pistons is respectively accommodated in the above-mentioned passages, each of the pistons having a cam follower portion and being acted on by a spring which urges the cam follower portion into a constant contact with the respective cam track so that the piston reciprocates in dependence on the configuration of the respective cam track. Two control sleeves, one for each of the sets of passages, is interposed between and selectively communicates the working chambers of the respective passages with respective input and output conduits of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4023657
Abstract: A device for damping a perpendicularly oscillating primary mass comprising a perpendicularly oscillatory reference mass supported by a piston in a pressure fluid chamber of an adjusting member. The pressure in the fluid chamber compensates for the weight of the reference mass and varies as a result of reference mass oscillation. Upon reduction of the prevailing pressure the fluid chamber receives fluid from a first pressure line through an automatic inlet valve, and upon increase of the prevailing pressure the fluid chamber emits fluid into a first return line through an automatic outlet valve, so as to impose on the adjusting member an oscillatory movement tending to reduce the vertical movement of the primary mass. The adjusting member forms a second piston in a follow-up cylinder to which the primary oscillating mass is connected.

  • Patent number: 3959644
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a housing having a cylindrical guide opening therefrom and a driven winding drum journaled therein. A pretensioned elastic tape, for example, stainless steel, is wrapped on the drum and extends through the cylindrical guide such that it forms a rigid air conducting tube. The air cooled device is fixed to the free end of the tube and cooled by air drawn through the tube.

  • Patent number: 3949553
Abstract: In combination with a hydraulic step motor comprising a servo-valve having a rotary valve member and a housing surrounding this member. The rotary valve member is provided with two fluid manifolds conjointly movable therewith. Two main conduits communicating with a source of fluid under pressure provide passage for the fluid to the servo-valve and to the fluid manifolds.A drivable shaft of the step motor is connected to the servo-valve rotary member to drive same. The rotary valve member comprises a plurality of primary positioning projections and of secondary sealing projections alternately spaced from one another and uniformly distributed around the periphery of the rotary valve member. Between the adjacent projection gaps are formed which are alternatively connected with one and the other of the fluid manifolds. Fluid channels provided in the wall of the housing open towards the periphery of the rotary valve member.
