Patents Assigned to Feintool Intellectual Property AG
  • Patent number: 9027379
Abstract: A method and a device for the production of a stamping with an enlarged functional surface, for example, fine blanking a workpiece out of a flat strip, wherein the flat strip is clamped between an upper part including a shearing punch, a pressure pad for the shearing punch, a V-shaped projection arranged on the pressure pad and an ejector which is pressed into the flat strip, and a lower part including a cutting die and an ejector. Edge rollover is avoided by preforming, before cutting begins, a negative with regard to the cutting direction with a preforming element in the direction opposite to the cutting direction that corresponds to the expected edge rollover into the cutting die with regard to size and geometry at cutting, generating a material volume at the side of the rollover in a mirror-inverted form. During cutting, the preformed area is supported by the preforming element.

  • Patent number: 8939003
Abstract: A method and device for production of stampings with an almost smooth cutting and enlarged functional surface, especially fine blanking and/or forming a workpiece out of a flat strip, wherein flat strip is clamped between an upper part consisting of a shearing punch, a pressure pad, a V-shaped projection and an ejector arranged on the pressure pad, and a lower part consisting of cutting die, ejector and an inner form stamp. By adjusting the state of stress in the cutting zone to a position oriented compressive stress by movement slightly retarded with regard to movement of the shearing punch additionally pressing in material in a direction almost perpendicular to the cutting direction by a tool element acting with controlled force depending on the part geometry and thickness of the workpiece parallel to the cutting line between shearing punch and cutting die, tears at cutting and reduced rollover are achieved.

  • Patent number: 8639051
Abstract: Rollover for a part generated by virtual fine blanking is predicted and determined prior to producing the part. A digital image, in particular the cutting contour of the part, is generated, provided as an image file and subjected to image analysis in an image processing device. The image analysis provides individual color gradations of the cutting contour. The gradations are associated with a residual thickness in the region of the cutting contour, so as to be indicative of rollover.

  • Patent number: 8375765
Abstract: The cylinder/piston unit for a counterforce ram or vee ring of a fineblanking or stamping press equipped with at least one tool is continuously maintained at a preadjustable cushion pressure (P1) and is then subjected to a preadjustable displacement pressure (P2) from a connectable high-pressure source, with said pressure being set to a pressure (PU) varying between the cushion pressure (P1) and the pressure for forming or blanking by supplying a separate control oil quantity to a second accumulator via a central control unit, whereby a rise in pressure caused by the impact between the tool and the workpiece is regulated, independently of quantity of the control oil, from the pressure (P3) in the second accumulator to a permissible set pressure by discharging a significant part of the pressure pulse into a separate tank and the available cushion pressure allows ejection of the workpiece to be synchronized with retraction of the press ram.

  • Patent number: 8365569
Abstract: A method and tool for the production of three-dimensional attachments out of a flat strip by forming and fine blanking operations, especially for car seat components or the like. The flat strip is fed into a tool, at least one plate is stamped out of the plate in the tool, the plate is processed into an attachment in multiple processing steps, at first by fine blanking, in a following second step the developed burrs are flattened and then without finishing the attachment is removed from the tool ready for mounting. Attachments with complex geometry can be produced by combined fine blanking and forming operations in such a way, that mountable and burr-free parts with very small tolerances, high accuracy and process safety can be provided at effective costs.

  • Patent number: 8186196
Abstract: A method and device for lubricating tool and workpiece at cutting and forming, especially fine blanking of a workpiece with 5 mm or more thickness and with complex part geometry from a flat strip lubricates a tool and workpiece at cutting and forming, so that fine blanking of thicker parts is reproducible, with high quality. Extended the edge life of the tools is achieved by lubricating the active surfaces without the provided lubricating film breaking off. One quantity of cutting oil is accumulated in a micro-surface structure of a functional surface of shearing punch and cutting die and evenly distributed on the functional surfaces as quasi-stationary cutting oil film by cooperation of functional surfaces moving past each other when the tool is closed, and another quantity of accumulated cutting oil, via the respective effective gaps, is provided to the active surfaces of shearing punch and workpiece in the forming zone.

  • Patent number: 8141482
Abstract: A hydraulic fine blanking head for a mechanical press and an infeeding method for same. The hydraulic fine blanking head includes an adjusting mechanism having an adjusting nut provided with an internal motion thread engaged with external motion threads on a main cylinder, the adjusting nut being turnable around a stroke axis, a sprocket wheel rotatable at a frontal surface of the adjusting nut, a hydraulic motor driving the sprocket wheel, and a brake for the motor shaft. Axial backlash between the respective motion threads is prohibited by a pressure generated by a flow of pressurized hydraulic fluid which also generates a part forming force in the head. A conduit in communication with a hydraulic system and the interior of the head delivers the locking pressure, locking the threads against the backlash. Removal of pressure unlocks the threads. Infeed of the main cylinder with regard to the ram is adjustable by switching the motor and the brake on and off.

  • Patent number: 8113111
Abstract: A device and method are provided for preventing a tool from breaking during fine blanking and/or forming in a press. The device includes a fine blanking head positioned above a ram that carries out a stroke movement. The fine blanking head includes, among other things, a main cylinder retaining a V-shaped projection piston, a touch piston, several V-shaped projection pins, a main plate covering the main cylinder and a touch table to which the tool can be connected. Pressure provided by a hydraulic system is introduced to the device in distinct regions. Gaps between certain device components are maintained and monitored for purposes of determining the undesirable presence of foreign objects in the press operating path. If a sensor determines that the gaps are not maintained then the computer which operates valves that supply the pressure from the hydraulic system will shut the press down.

  • Patent number: 7673376
Abstract: A device for fabricating a toothing at an inner facing edge of a three-dimensional pot-shaped body produced by forming and fine blanking exclusively implemented by cutting and/or shaving with a fine blanking die and/or a shaving device. The device includes a base plate and a pressure pad between which the pot-shaped body is receivable. A pilot die is received within a hollow space of a die and is biased in an advancement direction of the die such that a portion of the pilot die protrudes from the hollow space and contacts the base of said pot-shaped body before the die when the die is advanced in the working direction. A groove is thereby created between said curved edge of the pot-shaped body and the pilot die for leading a fine blanking burr or shaving chips into the recess of the pot-shaped body. Further advancement of the die fixing and pressing the burr or the chips into the recess.
