  • Patent number: 7197968
Abstract: A screwing tool with a device to adjust transmitted torque comprises a handle to introduce a torque to the device, which is borne in the hollow of the handle and a drive shaft as an output element of the torque. On the drive shaft inside the handle, two separate couplings are assembled, having between them a compression spring exerting a spring force against the two couplings. Each coupling comprises a first and a second socket engaging each other by gearings at their opposing faces. The maximum torque at which the torque transmission will be interrupted can be adjusted by an adjustment element wherein the distance between the couplings can be changed, thereby resulting in a change of the tension of the spring exerting a load on the couplings. The teeth of the gearings slide and the sockets rotate relatively to each other and interrupt the torque-transmission if a pre-adjusted torque is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 7168348
Abstract: The invention pertains to a screwdriver bit with a drive section (14) and a front section (1) that contains a profiled penetrating section (2) and is manufactured by compression molding and subsequently sintering a hard metal powder, where the front section is connected to the drive section. Thus, according to the invention, the length of the front section (1) is not greater than 2.5-times the length of the penetrating section (2) and/or the ratio of the length of the front section (1) to the diameter or the width across corners of the penetrating section (2) is not greater than 2.2 (FIG. 7).

  • Publication number: 20050247587
Abstract: The invention concerns a packaging, mainly for tool sets, consisting of a handle (5) and tool-inserts (12) to be inserted into the handle and a box (1) to take the components of the tool set. The box (1) is designed in such a way that either the handle (5) extends with its front part (6) through an aperture (14a) in the side wall of the box into the inner space of the box and with its main part (7) protrudes free outside of the box (1) or the handle (5) protrudes in full length outside of the box. At both embodiments the handle may be encompassed by the hand whereas the shank (9a) extends into the inner space of the box. Handle and shank are held in their position by support and holding elements (8a, 8b, 13, 16) at the lid (3) and bottom part (2) of the box.

  • Publication number: 20050178251
Abstract: A screw driver (50) for use with electrical appliances under voltage includes a handle (1) and a functional part (2) with a shank (3) and an end piece (5). The shank (3) is designed to be partly covered by an insulating sleeve (9) made of plastic. The end piece (5) is insulated and connectable to said handle (1) so that torque is transferable from said handle (1) to said functional part (2). The handle (1) is insulated from said shank (3). Furthermore the screw driver (50) includes a holding device (11) which is connected to the handle (1) and comprises a secured position and a released position. The holding device (11) is manually operable between the secured position and the released position. In the secured position the holding device (11) positively engages the functional part (2) such that the functional part (2) cannot be detached from the handle (1). In the released position the functional part (2) is allowed to be detached from said handle (1).

  • Publication number: 20050098002
Abstract: A magnetic screw-holding device is assembled close to the profile tip on the shank of a hand-screwdriver or screwdriver-insert with long shank. The device essentially consists of a sleeve made of non magnetic-conducing material in which a magnet is fixed at the front side or of a magnet made of magnetic material embedded in a plastic binder produced by injection molding. The sleeve with the magnet or the magnet can easily move in longitudinal direction and is or can be brought into such a position relative to the profile tip that by the force of the magnet-field the sleeve or the magnet moves automatically into a position in which the front face of the magnet contacts the surface of the screw head and also attracts the screw onto the profile tip so that it completely penetrates into the recess in the screw head if a screw is placed on the profile tip.

  • Patent number: 6170123
Abstract: Disclosed is a tool handle for an electronic screwdriver or other hand tool. The tool handle includes a tool handle body having a longitudinal dimension and comprising a convex portion that comprises about ⅖ of the longitudinal dimension proximal to the grip of the handle body and a relatively soft concave portion comprising substantially all of the remaining ⅕ of the tool handle body proximal to the working end. The tool handle further including a cap disposed at the grip end of the tool handle body, which cap is rotatable relative to the tool handle body. A user may grip the tool handle in various positions to apply varying levels of torque to a screw or other workpiece. Preferably, the cap includes a dome-shaped recess at the grip end for centering of the tool between the fingertip and working end of the tool.
