  • Patent number: 9416560
Abstract: A door handle mounting system is comprised of a face plate having a handle mounting hole therein to receive a shank portion of a handle therethrough. A circumferential abutment is associated with the handle for abutment about the mounting hole on an outer face of the face plate when the shank portion is disposed thereinto. A retainer ring, formed of flexible non-metallic material having a memory, is adapted to engage with the shank portion adjacent a rear face of the face plate. The retainer ring has an integrally formed locking portion for locking engagement with the shank portion, and an integrally formed tensioning portion for flexible abutment with the rear face of the face plate to apply a pulling force on the shank portion while retaining the handle operationally secured to the face plate. A coupling sleeve is also securable to the shank portion and engageable by the retainer ring.

  • Patent number: 7635593
Abstract: Localized catalyst activity in an SCR unit for controlling emissions from a boiler, power plant, or any facility that generates NOx-containing flue gases is monitored by one or more modules that operate on-line without disrupting the normal operation of the facility. Each module is positioned over a designated lateral area of one of the catalyst beds in the SCR unit, and supplies ammonia, urea, or other suitable reductant to the catalyst in the designated area at a rate that produces an excess of the reductant over NOx on a molar basis through the designated area. Sampling probes upstream and downstream of the designated area draw samples of the gas stream for NOx analysis, and the catalyst activity is determined from the difference in NOx levels between the two probes.

  • Patent number: 7162774
Abstract: A multi-position adjustable door hinge is comprised of a frame leaf having a lower barrel section and a door leaf having an upper barrel section. An eccentric pivot pin is disposed in axial rotational fit in a through bore of the lower barrel section and is in contact at a lower end with an adjustment screw. The eccentric pivot pin has an upper cylindrical portion eccentrically displaced from the lower cylindrical portion and extends into a cylindrical bore of an eccentric compensator cylinder adjustably retained in the through bore of the upper barrel section. The eccentric pivot pin and the eccentric compensator cylinder are both axially displaceable from one another whereby to impart relative lateral displacement thereof and of the barrels to a desired position. The adjustment screw at the bottom of the lower barrel section provides vertical adjustment between the frame leaf and the door leaf.

  • Patent number: 6698970
Abstract: A multipoint locking mechanism for locking a window sash in a closed position in a window frame. The locking mechanism is of the type having a slider portion translating longitudinally in a window frame in response to an actuation of a handle to engage at least two engagement members of the slider portion with corresponding keeper portions in the window sash for locking the window sash to the window frame. At least one of the at least two engagement members is a cam wedge having at least one ramped portion and a rest portion. The cam wedge is positioned on the slider portion such that the at least one ramped portion abuts the corresponding keeper portion during a translation of the slider portion, and is guided by the corresponding keeper portion to abut the rest portion thereagainst to prevent a displacement of the window sash toward an open position thereof.

  • Patent number: 6479081
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for obtaining grape pomace and/or seed tannin, comprising steps which consist in: (a) from fresh black or white grapes pomace and/or seed, carrying out a solid-liquid extraction of raw tannin fraction in an aqueous solvent; (b) eliminating the first solvent from the resulting extract to obtain a concentrate of the raw tannin fraction; and (c) purifying the raw tannin fraction to obtain said tannin: The method is characterised in that in step (a) sulphite water (H2O+SO2) is used as solvent, and in step (c) the raw tannin fraction is purified by selectively adsorbing the tannin polyphenol compounds on resin and by subsequent filtering. The invention also concerns the resulting tannin and its uses in particular as endogenous tannin in wine.
