Abstract: A method for improving acoustic properties of sheets, in particular for use in automotive application, is disclosed. An anhydrous sealant composition consisting of three major components, namely a selected polymer, a benzoate plasticizer and an additive, in particular a filler, is applied is applied to the sheets which are subsequently submitted to a heat treatment at a temperature in the range of from 100-240° C. for a period of 1 minute to two hours. The preferred plasticizer for use in the method of this invention is a dibenzoate plasticizer.
