  • Patent number: 5102109
Abstract: A hydraulic shock absorber with a housing defining a high pressure space and containing a piston adapted to be moved by a mass to be damped. When the piston is moved for damping hydraulic fluid is displaced from the high pressure space so that there is a damping action. There is both a pressure-dependent damping device and also a piston stroke-dependent damping device.

  • Patent number: 5087845
Abstract: A series electric motor having at least one field winding on its stator and a rotor fed through a commutator and brushes, and a device for short circuiting the rotor. Between the stator and the rotor there is at least one permanent braking magnet attached to the stator. When the short circuiting device is put into operation, the permanent magnet field to drive the braking current is strictly predetermined so that a braking effect may cause no additional or harmful sparking at the brushes. The entire braking energy is then directly converted in the motor rotor and there is no necessity for an additional electronic regulating device for the braking current.

  • Patent number: 4987822
Abstract: A linear actuator comprising a linear motor, more especially in the form of a pneumatic motor, which has a housing containing an axially moving piston which is connected with an actuating rod extending out of the motor housing at a working end thereof, a control device, for instance in the form of valve means, for operation of the motor, and a sensor means responsive to certain positions of the actuating rods. In order to simplify and cheapen production of such an actuator while facilitating and speeding up installation of the linear motor, the control device and sensor device are permanently connected to form a readily handled working unit, and the control device and the sensor device are arranged on the control end, opposite to the working end, of the linear motor.

  • Patent number: 4962912
Abstract: The flow regulating valve for pneumatic or other fluids comprises a housing with two valve spaces separated from each other by a partition and each having a port opening into them. The two valve spaces are able to be connected with each other by a cutout or transfer port in the partition. In one valve space there is a rotary valve member which covers the transfer port to a greater or lesser extent in accordance with the amount it is turned. On adjusting the position of the rotary valve member the effective size of the transfer port may be varied to control the flow of the fluid between one valve space and the other.

  • Patent number: 4936193
Abstract: The present invention provides a protective device for a working member, such as the piston rod of a piston and cylinder actuator, which is arranged at least partly in a receiving member and is able to be moved and more especially slid, along a curved or straight path so that it projects to a greater or lesser extent out of the receiving member. The device is provided with a plurality of sleeve-like guard sections which surround the working member projecting out of the receiving member along the full length of the working member so that whatever the position of the latter any two adjacent guard sections overlap each other and are able to be slid in relation to each other, one of said guard sections being stationarily arranged on the receiving member and another guard section being arranged on the working member so as to move therewith so that in accordance with the actual axial extent of the part of the member to be protected the sections are telescoped into each other to a greater or lesser extent.

  • Patent number: 4912291
Abstract: The invention is concerned with switch devices and more particularly with devices to be fitted to piston and cylinder actuators to monitor the position of the piston therein. The device comprises a switch which has two connection or terminal contacts arranged at its axially opposite ends. These terminal contacts are respectively connected with signal conductors which may for instance be in the form of flexible cable wire. The switch is accommodated in a sleeve surrounding it. The two signal conductors are extended as far as a common axial terminal or connection end of the switch. For producing an electrical connection of the one signal conductor with the second terminal contact the current is caused to flow through the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4905730
Abstract: An override check valve comprising a valve housing in which a valve device is located which is made up of a valve member for opening and closing a valve port connecting first and second fluid ducts with each other. A valve closing spring urges the valve member into its closed setting. An operating device is arranged in an operation position of the valve in an upper housing part above the valve device and serves to switch over the valve member between the closed position and open position. An attachment part is arranged in this operation position on a lower part of the housing and serves to attach the valve to a component to be supplied with fluid under pressure, such attachment part having an outlet port in communication with the first duct.

Feed ducts in the interior of the valves and controlled fluid ducts are connected with feed ducts and load ducts running through the connection body. The same are connected with distribution ducts which are formed in a manifold body which is also mounted on the connection body. The valves have venting ducts which are connected with a common spent air ducts formed in the spent air duct body. Furthermore, the valve have electrical connectors which are connected with a common electronic circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4729194
Abstract: An orbital sander/grinder has on one side of its housing a rotatably mounted disk holder which is brought into orbital motion by means of a drive mechanism that is inside the housing, and is coupled with an eccenter. The eccenter is rotatably mounted on one side in the housing, on the other side in the disk holder, while the rotational axis in the housing is radially offset relative to the rotational axis of the eccenter in the disk holder, but the two axes run parallel to each other. A balancing weight for compensating the unbalance rotates in synchronization with the eccenter. To ensure sanding/grinding with a minimum of vibration, means are provided to compensate for the transverse forces generated by the abrasive and/or cutting forces that are exerted at the eccenter.

  • Patent number: 4564043
Abstract: This invention relates to a pneumatically actuated stepping valve for an automatic control of inlets and outlets for a pneumatic fluid. Each stepping movement is performed in response to a feedback signal indicating that an operation controlled by the valve has been completed. A distributing disc is provided for selecting consecutive pairs of ports consisting of an inlet port and an outlet port each. The stepping valve consists mainly of plastic parts, which contain numerous bores and passages and can be made at low cost. In accordance with the invention the valve disc cooperates with a sealing piston, which in response to pressure applied to said piston establishes connections to through passages of the valve disc, whereas when the piston is pressure-relieved it will be urged by spring means to disengage the valve disc so that the latter will not be restrained by the piston during its stepping movement.
