Abstract: In a process for producing methanol, a synthesis gas that has been recovered from biomass is fed to a methanol synthesis apparatus. In a main operating mode in which sufficient electrical power is available for electrolytic hydrogen recovery, correspondingly electrolytically recovered hydrogen is fed to the methanol synthesis apparatus. In a secondary operating mode in which insufficient electrical power is available for electrolytic production of hydrogen, a tail gas that arises from a biogas recovered from a biomass on removal of the synthesis gas is fed to a generator in order to provide electrical power for apparatuses involved in the process.

  • Publication number: 20250046838
Abstract: A method for diagnosing an operating status of a fuel cell system having a fuel cell and a system for operating media management, includes creating an operating model (M) of the fuel cell, including an electrochemical model (ecM) and a physical model (pM) coupled thereto. By the electrochemical model (ecM), an electrical operating power (P) of the fuel cell is determinable as a function of an electrical operating current (J) and thermodynamic operating parameters (?). By the physical model (pM), a time-dependent spatial distribution of the thermodynamic operating parameters (?) is determinable. The method further includes: detecting the electrical operating current (J) of the fuel cell and status variables (?) of operating media of the fuel cell; and determining the electrical operating power of the fuel cell by the operating model (M) based on the detected electrical operating current (J) and the detected status variables (?) of the operating media.

  • Publication number: 20240359687
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a driver-assistance system for controlling a velocity of a vehicle. The system having a receiver and a control system. The receiver is configured to receive traffic light data generated by a traffic light control unit for controlling a traffic light. The control system is configured to control the velocity of the vehicle dependent on the traffic light data. The traffic light data indicates a current phase of the traffic light. The control system is configured to control the velocity of the vehicle dependent on the traffic light data such that the vehicle stops in front of the traffic light when the current phase of the traffic light is a red phase and controls the velocity of the vehicle dependent on the traffic light data such that the vehicle reaches a prescribed target velocity when the current phase of the traffic light is a green phase.

  • Patent number: 11796336
Abstract: A method for determining routes for test drives of autonomous vehicles, wherein a plurality of test features are to be encountered or avoided on the routes. The method includes determining a geographical area in which a test drive is to take place, determining a starting point, determining a destination point, determining the plurality of test features, which are relevant for the test drive, creating a logical expression which places the plurality of test features in a logical relationship to one another, determining, at least one route which are located within the geographical area, which have the starting point and the destination point and which satisfy the logical expression, using a map material for the area and positions or areas where the plurality of test features are located, and displaying a representation of the determined routes for a user for the purpose of selecting a selected route.

  • Patent number: 11635019
Abstract: A connecting rod for changing a compression ratio of an internal combustion engine includes a connecting rod head, a connecting rod pin, and an interlock. The connecting rod pin is supported by an eccentric of the connecting rod at a variable distance within the connecting rod head. The connecting rod head or the connecting rod pin includes a fluid chamber and the eccentric has a projection extending into the fluid chamber. In the alternative, the eccentric delimits a fluid chamber and the connecting rod head or the eccentric has a projection extending into in the fluid chamber. A fluid pressure in the fluid chamber exerts a force on the projection to change the position of the eccentric. In a locking position, the interlock inhibits rotation of the eccentric relative to the connecting rod head and the interlock is configured to be releasable.
