Abstract: A cosmetic composition for nails containing a concentration less than or equal to 1 wt % of at least one monoaldehyde of the formula (I): R—CHO, where R is C5-C12 linear alkyl radical or a C5-C12 alkenyl with an unconjugated double bond to the —CHO aldehyde group, as nail hardening agent, and provided in the form of a colored or colorless fingernail polish, a polish undercoat, a peelable polish, a beauty oil, an emulsion or an aqueous solution, or a gel. Also the use of aldehydes of the formula (I) for hardening and strengthening nails and to a method for applying same.
Abstract: A cosmetic composition for nails containing a plasticizer of natural origin, a derivative of sorbitol, and the use of isosorbide diester as a plasticizer in cosmetic compositions for nails.
Abstract: The water-based nail-polish composition includes a mixture of at least one water-based suspension (A) of hard nanoparticles of an acrylic polymer at a glass transition temperature that is greater than or equal to 55° C., in combination with at least one coalescent and/or plasticizing solvent of the polymer; and at least one water-based suspension (B) of nanoparticles of acrylic monomers, partially cross-linked, that have a film formation temperature of less than 15° C. The water-based composition can also contain a solution (C) of an acrylic polymer of low molecular weight that is less than approximately 20,000, with a high acid value, neutralized to a pH of between 7 and 8.5, approximately.

Abstract: A method for adding active agents to a nail varnish, in emulsion form. The method is suitable for adding active agents by minimizing the breakdown of same in the varnish, or the destabilization of the varnish. The method also enables the addition of active ingredients that were previously incompatible with the varnish medium.
Abstract: The cosmetic composition for nails without phtalate, without camphor or aromatic solvent comprises: a principal cellulosic filmogenic polymer, preferably nitrocellulose, a diester of benzoic acid with a diol, as a plasticizer, and at least one additive resin. This composition can be used as a colored nail polish or for providing an adherent layer or a clear finish layer.

Abstract: A nail polish composition comprises a cellulosic filmogenic polymer, a plasticizer and one or more solvents, and is characterized in that it includes 20 to 200% by weight, relative to the cellulosic polymer, of at least one second filmogenic polymer partially insoluble in the cellulosic polymer, giving rise to settling into at least two stable and separate liquid phases at rest. Preferably, the second filmogenic polymer is a vinyl resin, for example polyvinylbutyral. After agitation, this composition has a homogeneous appearance, and can be applied to the nails like a conventional polish.
