Patents Assigned to Fibercast Company
  • Patent number: 5262212
Abstract: The present invention provides novel filament winding, hand lay-up, reaction injection molding, and pultrusion methods for producing novel articles. Each of the inventive methods utilizes a resin composition comprising a polyester base resin, a viscosity and flow improving agent, and a filler. The viscosity and flow improving agent comprises a phosphated polyester, said phosphated polyester being a saturated polyester having acidic groups. Using the inventive methods, articles having exceptionally high aluminum trihydrate loadings can be formed. These articles exhibit excellent flame resistance and smoke evolution properties.

  • Patent number: 5186502
Abstract: A double-containment pipe fitting and system for joining sections of double-containment pipe includes an outer containment housing, an inner carrier housing, and a plurality of restraining devices. The containment housing has a plurality of open ends. Each open end is constructed to securely connect to an open end of a containment pipe. the carrier housing has a plulrality of open ends constructed and arranged for positioning within the containment housing. Each open end of the carrier housing is constructed to securely connect to an open end of a carrier pipe. One restraining device is provided for each open end of the containment housing. The restraining device securely fastens the carrier housing to the containment housing and thereby restrains expansion and contraction of the carrier pipe and containment pipe. The carrier pipe and containment pipe are otherwise unrestrained against expansion and contraction.

  • Patent number: 4714578
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a centrifugally cast pipe for use in a chemical and corrosive atmosphere is provided. The centrifugally cast pipe has an integrally cast socket or coupling at one end of the pipe. The socket is cast onto the pipe. At the same time that the pipe is cast, both socket and pipe are cured simultaneously, creating a homogeneous wall from body to socket through the transition zone.
