Patents Assigned to FILMSTRIP, INC.
  • Publication number: 20160291824
Abstract: A system and method are presented to allow audio communication between users concerning a group of images. A first mobile device has an app that selects a plurality of images and then records audio commentary for the plurality of images. The images and audio commentary are grouped into an image grouping, and the image grouping is transmitted to a second mobile device. Reply commentaries to the image grouping can also be associated with a particular image in the grouping. Image groupings can be presented by reviewing all commentaries on a single image first before moving to a second image, or by reviewing all commentaries made in a user-session before moving to a second user session.

  • Patent number: 9460057
Abstract: A computerized system and method are presented that creates implicit content on a mobile device by monitoring and recording input from sensors on the device. Using the metadata and event identification, the content is created into clusters, which can be confirmed by the user as actual events. Events can then be grouped according to metadata and event information into a presentation grouping. Presentation groupings can be presented using a map and timeline interface, and can be augmented using content from external sources, other users, or viewers of the content. Themes can be created for presentation groupings that format the presentation groupings according to stored formatting appropriate to the theme. Themes can suggest theme events to which users can assign places and times. Information about future theme events can then be used to trigger a request for content or to trigger the creation of implicit content.

  • Publication number: 20160142361
Abstract: A system and method are presented that use an existing social networking message system to allow interactive audio commentary concerning a visual image. Audio is rendered into a video file containing the image. This video file is provided to a web page generation server that creates a web page containing the video file and appropriate metadata. A social networking message containing a link to the web page is sent over the existing message system. Existing applications read the social networking message, follow the link, read the metadata, and allow readers to play the video file. Users are encouraged to view the message using an app that can record a reply audio track. Recorded reply messages are added to the social networking message in the same manner as the original audio. Audio commentary concerning an image can also be added to a web page or blog post through a widget.

  • Publication number: 20150092006
Abstract: A system and method are presented to allow audio communication between users concerning an image. The originator of the communication uses a wearable mobile device app to select an image and record an audio commentary. The image, audio commentary, and metadata are submitted to a cloud server for storage. The app uses the server to analyze a recipient address to determine the preferred mode of delivery. If the recipient is a known user of the app, the file is delivered without combining the image, audio commentary, and metadata into a standard movie file. Otherwise, the originator's app delivers the file through MMS or e-mail for the recipient as a movie file for viewing using a standard video player.
