Abstract: An oil separator for the gases of the crankcase ventilating system of an internal-combustion engine has a filter element through which the breathing gases flow and from which the separated oil is returned via an oil return into the oil tank 4. The blow-by gases, from which the oil was removed, are supplied to the air intake system of the internal-combustion engine. A vacuum generator is provided which generates a specified constant vacuum for the sucking-off of the blow-by gases. In addition, an air oil removal element that separates the oil has microfibers which are made of fiber glass material.

Abstract: An arrangement for controlling the temperature of the intake air of internal-combustion engines has an intake air filter in which a swivellable control valve is provided that interacts with a pneumatic actuator. The actuator causes an adjustment of the control valve by a bimetallic control device, as a function of the air temperature fed to the internal-combustion engine. A thermostat is provided which, by way of a movable stop, determines the swivel range of the control valve in the direction that closes off the warm-air duct. The thermostat is arranged in a receiving device. This receiving device is fastened in a cold-air duct by a welded connection.

Abstract: A coalescence separator comprises a tank with an inlet for an oil-water mixture. In the upper area of the tank, a drain is arranged for the oil collected in the tank. In the lower area of the tank, a drain is arranged for the water accumulating in the tank. The water drain is provided with an ascending pipe which ends below the oil drain. A changeable coalescence element is arranged on the bottom side of the tank and is associated with the ascending pipe through a guide body which prevents swirls in a chamber of the tank above the coalescence element. The coalescence element is easily exchanged by removal from either the upper end of the tank or from below by way of a screw mounting.

Abstract: An air filter for an internal combustion engine which has a filter insert is arranged in a housing having a clean air outlet and an unfiltered air inlet provided with a screen. An auxiliary unfiltered air inlet is also provided which is closed by a flap under normal operating conditions but which opens under the influence of a negative pressure generated in the filter housing if the screen becomes clogged because of snow or ice entrained in the air stream, so that air can enter the filter through the auxiliary air inlet.

Abstract: A filter system for filtering the air intake of an internal combustion engine including a housing having a bottom half and a cover half, at least two filter inserts each consisting of pleated filter paper or filter batting, and a circumferential gasket. The two filter inserts are connected by a junction strip which simultaneously seals the raw air chamber from the clean air chamber between the two filter inserts.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for the manufacture of a pleated filter from an endless web of filter material scores a web of filter material scored in a scoring station. The web of filter material is then passed with a set pleat spacing into cogbelts. The filter material web is then severed by a cutter into pieces suitable for further processing.

Abstract: A multi-way distributor having at least two mutually parallel and displaceable disks provided with at least two through-holes or connection pieces. At least two flexible tubes are fastened to at least two of these displaceable disks, and by the relative movements of the disks with respect to one another, different connections can be achieved which the distribution of the material flows takes place.

Abstract: A filter for fuel and/or lubricants of an internal combustion engine is described. This filter consists of a base plate which can be fastened to a threaded nipple, a cover which is releasably fastened to the base plate, and a support tube disposed on the cover or base plate. A filter cartridge is slipped over the support tube and consists of a cylinder-shaped filter insert and nonmetallic end plates. This filter cartridge is in contact with a sealing means on the base plate and an additional sealing means on the cover. Replacement of the entire filter is not necessary, with only the filter cartridge requiring replacement at specified intervals of time.

Abstract: A method for processing wastes from the machining of ferromagnetic materials in which the wastes are mixed with a washing solution in a first tank and oil or oil-and-water emulsion adhering to the wastes is dissolved. Ferromagnetic components of the wastes are then separated from the washing solution in the first tank by means of a magnetic field, and non-magnetic components are then subjected to a washing in a following second tank. The ferromagnetic components are fed to an additional tank where they are washed again. The separated and degreased components are then filtered out of the washing liquids using suitable filtering apparatus.

Abstract: A pressure control valve for controlling the vacuum in a crankcase housing, which valve is disposed on an oil filler opening (33) and simultaneously acts as a cap for the oil filler opening. A tube 37 through which the crankcase gases are conveyed to the air intake of the internal combustion engine is provided in the oil filler opening. The pressure control valve serves to establish a certain vacuum in the crankcase, is of compact construction, and can be replaced or checked in a simple manner.

Abstract: A pivotable joint including a first part provided with pivot bores and a second part with resiliently mounted pivot pins received in said pivot bores such that the second part is pivotably mounted in a desired assembled position. The first part has a closed tubular cross section and may be a section of the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The resiliently mounted pivot pins are symmetrically mounted on opposite sides of the second part, which may be a throttle valve. The pivot pins are elastically displaceable axially during assembly of the first and second parts such that they snap resiliently into the pivot bores of the first part when the second part reaches the desired assembled position.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a control strip for injection valves in plastic fuel lines of an internal combustion engine, comprising forming a conductive preform defining at least two conductive elements initially connected by removable bridges formed of the same material as the conductive elements for controlling said injection valves; embedding said preform in an insulting plastic; removing the bridges between the conductive elements to electrically isolate the conductive elements from each other; and thereafter casting the plastic-embedded and electrically isolated conductive elements into a one-piece control strip which serves as a housing and electrical control strip for the injection valves.

Abstract: A valve, particularly a pressure relief valve for the lubricating oil filter of an internal combustion engine, which includes a valve plate 11, a valve body 10 cooperating with the valve plate, a valve spring 14 and a valve hood 15, the valve spring 14 being supported on the valve hood 15 and exerting a force on the valve plate to seal the opening between the valve plate and the valve body. A cylindrical guide 24 is provided at the upper end of the valve hood, and the valve plate 11 contains a blind bore 25 which receives the cylindrical guide in order to guide the valve plate.

Abstract: A cap for closing a tubular opening, especially the opening of an oil filler tube, which cap comprises a first part or cover part 12, which can be attached to the tubular opening by a bayonet lock, and a second part provided as an inside part 13, which is freely rotatable on the cover part 12 and is attached to the cover part 12 by a snap fastener 22. On the inside part 13 is a gasket 14 which seals the tubular opening. Sliding contact surfaces 20, 21 are provided between the inside part and the outer cap, so that no shearing forces act on the inside part or on the gasket when the tubular opening is closed or opened, thereby substantially facilitating the closing and opening of the tubular opening.

Abstract: An air intake manifold for an internal combustion engine including a mounting flange through which a plurality of intake ducts open. Blow-by gases from the crankcase of the engine are introduced into the intake ducts through channels or passageways communicating with the ducts adjacent a face of the mounting flange which is fastened to the cylinder head of the engine. Connecting means also are provided through which the blow-by gases are introduced into the channels or passageways. The invention provides a simple design for feeding blow-by gases into the air intake manifold and for assuring uniform filling of the individual intake ducts with blow-by gases which lubricate the intake valves due to their slight oil content.

Abstract: An apparatus for drying bulk materials such as plastic granules which includes a substantially cylindrical hopper having a funnel-shaped bottom, a filler spout for feeding bulk material to the hopper, an air inlet with an injector tube for introducing heated dry air into bulk material situated in the hopper, a bulk material withdrawal system with a conveying duct connected to it through which the bulk material is carried to further processing, a temperature measuring system is disposed in the cylindrical portion of the hopper which measures the temperature of the bulk material, and a device which, when the measured temperature falls below a predetermined limit, either sounds an alarm or decreases or interrupts the discharge of bulk material to prevent discharge of inadequately dried material.

Abstract: An air intake filter for the internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle in which a substantially cylindrical housing contains an annular filter insert through which the air flows radially from the outside to the inside. At one end of the housing an end opening of the filter insert sealingly engages a tubular projection which communicates with the clean air outlet so that the filter insert is centered within the housing. At its opposite end, the filter insert is closed by a cover and is provided with fastening elements which engage in the junction between the housing and the cover, so that the fastening of the cover to the housing simultaneously serves to axially and radially secure the filter insert in place. Alternatively, the cylindrical housing may be formed of two, semicylindrical half-shells, and the filter insert may be provided with an annular bead which mates with a corresponding indentation in the housing to assure proper installation of the filter insert.
