Abstract: A rotary device performing the task of changing the direction of advancement of a plastics card or metal plate, suitable for being inserted in a punching machine, constituted by a bearing structure, a linear conveyor for the plastics card or metal plate and a drive motor, in which the bearing structure comprises a lower, fixed framework, inside which the drive motor is housed, above which a upper, rotary framework is rotatably supported, on which the linear conveyor is positioned. A first positive transmission connects the drive motor with the upper, rotary framework of the structure, causing the upper, rotary framework to rotate by a predetermined angualr rotation, and a second positive transmission connects the drive motor with the linear conveyor which conveys the plastics card or metal plate. Between the two positive transmissions and the drive motor two free-wheel mechanisms are interposed, which cause the two positive transmissions to be selectively actuated.

Abstract: An energy dissipating device, particularly for use in structures impervious to seismic occurrences, includes a metal element having the shape of at least a symmetrical double portal, which is asymmetrically deformable in the elastic field or beyond the elastic limit. The center pier of this portal is fastened to one portion of the structure, whereas the two side piers are fastened to another portion of the structure so as to compel this metal element, upon a relative movement of the two portions of the structure, to be deformed in the elasto-plastic field, thereby dissipating the deformation work by hysteresis of the material principally in the form of heat.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatic insertion of encoded cards into envelope-modules. The envelope-modules are formed as part of a continuous strip. The envelope-modules are discharged from the apparatus sealed and ready for dispatch in the mail containing pre-printed cards with the envelope-modules being printed in accordance with the indicia on the pre-printed cards.
