Abstract: This system (10) for distributing gas cylinders, wherein the gas cylinders (11) are likely to be of different types defined by different shapes, volumes and colors, comprises means (20) for identifying the type of gas cylinder (11), the identification means (20) comprising a first sensor (60) for sensing the color of the gas cylinder. The identification means (20) also include a sensor (62) for detecting ferromagnetic material.
