Patent number: 7011572Abstract: The scouring pad comprises a wad (10) of looped scouring wire. The wad is constituted by substantially concentric windings of the wire (12) such that it presents substantially the form of a toroidal ring. The pad has means for holding the windings together, said means comprising at least one binding strap (20) going around a section of the ring and disposed substantially on a meridian of the torus formed by the ring.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2001Date of Patent: March 14, 2006Assignee: Financiere Elysees BalzacInventors: Bryan Johnson, René Catrisse

Patent number: 6375967Abstract: The present invention relates to a regenerated cellulose-based cellular material with a long-term resistance to microorganisms—bacteria and/or fungi—and to a process for its preparation. Said material, which is of the sponge or sponge-cloth type, contains in its cellulosic bulk an effective amount of 2,4,4′-trichloro-2′-hydroxydiphenyl ether (triclosan) which is distributed and not enclosed in a matrix. At least one latex and advantageously at least one cationic compound are used together with said triclosan.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2000Date of Patent: April 23, 2002Assignee: Financiere Elysees BalzacInventors: Olivier Bedue, Christophe Chalvin

Patent number: 6129867Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing alveolar cellulosic products (sponges, sponge-cloths, etc.) from a cellulosic raw material, the process comprising:at least partially dissolving a cellulosic raw material in an intrinsic solvent for cellulose;incorporating an effective quantity of at least one pore-forming agent into the resulting mixture, with mixing; said pore-forming agent(s), being compatible with the cellulosic mixture, being capable of generating macro- and micro-pores when it/they is/are actuated;gelling the homogeneous dough thus obtained;treating said gelled dough under conditions in which the cellulose precipitates out and the pore-forming agent(s) present are actuated. The process is an advantageous alternative to the viscose process which is a polluting process. The properties of the products obtained are completely similar to those of products obtained using the viscose process. The (novel) products form part of the invention.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1998Date of Patent: October 10, 2000Assignee: Financiere Elysees BalzacInventors: Christophe Chevalier, Henri Chanzy, Jean-Luc Wertz

Patent number: 5852066Abstract: A first object of the present invention is constituted by regenerated cellulose based materials, in particular those selected from cellular cellulose materials, fibers, filaments, sheets, textiles and non-woven materials. They contain an effective quantity of at least one chemical agent which improves the resistance of the material to bleach; the chemical agent containing in its structure at least one nitrogen atom .alpha. to a carbon atom and being fixed by at least one covalent bond to the cellulose lattice and/or being trapped in said lattice. Further objects are constituted by the use of chemical agents to improve the resistance to bleach of regenerated cellulose based materials, in particular sponges, and a process for the preparation of these materials.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1995Date of Patent: December 22, 1998Assignee: Financiere Elysees BalzacInventors: Christophe Chalvin, Jerome Ducommun, Jean-Luc Wertz

Patent number: 5483720Abstract: A sponge mop including a mount connected to a handle, the mount including at least one elongate support element designed to receive a spongy layer. The spongy layer is fixed to the support by a releasable fixing element including at least two fixing slides secured to the support, and at least one hooking slab secured to the spongy layer and designed to co-operate with the fixing slides. The slides are slidably mounted in slideway-forming element. The sponge mop also includes two lateral wings that are pivotally mounted and capable of being moved by a control element between a mopping position and a wringing-out position. A socket device may be provided for connecting the handle to the mount.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1994Date of Patent: January 16, 1996Assignees: Financiere Elysees Balzac, P.D.C. Patent number: 5441742Abstract: The present invention relates to a cellular cellulosic material containing a biocide agent and to a process for preparing same. Characteristically, matrix type microparticles, containing at least one biocide agent, are distributed in the network of cellulose of said material, ensuring therein, in the presence of moisture or water, a controlled release of the biocide agent or agents.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 1994Date of Patent: August 15, 1995Assignee: Financiere Elysees BalzacInventors: Pierre Autant, Christophe Chalvin, Claudine Colin, Rafael Jorda, Jean-Luc Wertz
