  • Process and product by-process for staining a fiberglass door

    Abstract: A pigmented fiberglass door and a process for finishing a molded, wood grain fiberglass door is provided. The pigmentation process comprises the sequential steps of priming the door surface; painting the door surface; staining the door surface while removing stain from raised grain edges of the door; and, applying a clear, protective coat to the door. This process has been found to provide a painted and/or stained door which has an appearance indistinguishable from a wooden door.
