Abstract: A multifunction NFPA escape and ladder belt having multiple functions for firefighter and rescue worker work. The belt includes a front buckle and right and left side buckles, straps coupling the left and right side buckles to the front buckle and to one another. At least one of said straps includes a stitched loop portion formed with a stitching pattern configured to fail, and for the loop portion to unfold, when the side straps are under a sufficient tension load exceeding the breaking strength of the stitching pattern; that failure will occur before a structural failure in any other element or component of the belt.

Abstract: A self-righting rapid escape anchor including a shank and an integral hook, together forming front and rear sides, right and left sides, a lower end having a rope hole for passing a safety rope, a body slot in the shank, a saddle slot in the hook, and a tip holder at the terminal end of the hook for removably attaching a hardened steel piercing tip. The weight distribution of the tip in relation to the shank and hook induces rotation about the longitudinal axis of the anchor to place the anchor in a point down orientation when it is pulled longitudinally by a rope attached to the rope hole.

Abstract: A descent control device to facilitate rapid descent and abseil (rappelling) maneuvers, including a body, a handle integrally affixed to the body to define a longitudinal axis for the device, an attachment lug disposed on the body, and a combination of through holes through the body through which a safety line is threadably inserted in a specific pattern, and shallow channels between the through holes, thereby giving rise to configurations that allow the safety line to payout freely through the descent device, to be locked in relation to the descent device, or to payout in a controlled pace, all configurations depending on the orientation of the longitudinal axis of the device to the anchored upper portion of the safety line.

Abstract: A quick release apparatus for rapid disconnection of a waist belt from a self-contained breathing apparatus support frame, including frame connectors disposed on a lumbar support pad. The frame connectors and inserted through horizontal slots on the SBCA support frame and present an aperture for insertion of slide clips that tether the SCBA support frame to the lumbar support pad. The support pad, in turn, may be removably attached to a trucker's belt or integrated therein. In an emergency, the slide clips may be rapidly removed with a simple pull to effect a full and compete release of the SCBA support frame from the waist belt while leaving the waist belt and its accoutrements on the user.

A users pulls one of the quick release handle portions away from the waist belt to accomplish a partial release of the waist belt from the support frame, and by pulling both of said handle portions, the waist belt is fully decoupled from the support frame, such that the self-contained breathing apparatus may be removed by the wearer without also having to unbuckle or to remove the waist belt.

Abstract: An apparatus for a rescue worker's waist belt for connecting to and rapidly disconnecting from a self-contained breathing apparatus waist belt. The rescue worker's waist belt includes buckles disposed on its side that complement the buckles disposed on the SCBA waist belt. An SCBA wearer connects the SCBA waist belt directly to the rescue worker's waist belt rather than buckling the waist belt around the wearer's waist. Rapid disconnection is effected with the push of two buttons, thereby allowing the wearer to entirely remove the SCBA from his or her body while leaving the rescue worker's waist belt and any accoutrements attached thereto in place and on his or her person.

Abstract: An enema device for use with a source of enema fluid is provided. The enema device includes a hollow elongated body having first and second ends an interior extending between the first and second ends, a feed portion formed at the first end of the hollow elongated body, and an applicator portion disposed at the second end of the elongated body. The feed portion is in fluid communication with the interior of the hollow elongated body and is adapted to be placed into fluid communication with a source of enema fluid. The applicator portion defines a discharge opening in communication with the interior of the hollow elongated body.
