Abstract: A locking device is described including: a rotary motor; a worm drive arrangement including a worm and a gear; and a pivotally mounted bolt which is rotatable between a retracted position and an extended position; the motor is arranged to drive the worm to rotate the gear; as the gear rotates it cooperates with a cam formation associated with the bolt to move the bolt between the retracted and extended positions.
Abstract: A locking mechanism is disclosed including: a plunger; a plurality of locking elements; a cage including apertures in which the locking elements are housed; and a sleeve; the sleeve is moveable with respect to the cage between an unlocked position and a locked position; in the locked position, the sleeve maintains the locking elements in engagement with a recess on the plunger to restrict the movement of the plunger.
Abstract: A door locking installation is described comprising: a locking mechanism mounted below floor level in association with a door and including a locking element which is moveable between a retracted position and an extended position; an electrically powered actuator which is arranged to drive the locking mechanism by way of a mechanical linkage; the mechanical linkage separates the actuator from the locking mechanism; and wherein the actuator is mounted above floor level.
