    Abstract: Disclosed is an environment-friendly, pH-neutral, loaded stream extinguishant and a method for preparing the same. The extinguishant is prepared from a mixture of a fire extinguishable component, an organic acid, a surfactant and water. It is very effective in controlling A class fires, as well as showing excellent flame retardance. Also, the extinguishant is neutral in pH so as to neither corrode extinguisher parts, nor affect soil negatively. It can be also applied to portable extinguishers.
