    Abstract: The shaft on which the awning web may be rolled up is mounted in a housing with a substantially cylindrical inner cavity having a slot along its length for passage of the web. C-shaped brackets, open in the region of the slot, can be slid onto the housing, with notches locking on ridges of the housing to prevent relative rotation, and these brackets may be clamped on wall-mounted bases at an adjustable angle by means of clamping shells affixed to the mounting bases. The extension arms linked to the bottom slat have their inner ends mounted on the forward portions of two of the brackets and these arms fold up against the housing as the bottom slat is pulled up against the housing when the awning is retracted.

    Abstract: The parts of each element are fixed in a predetermined configuration to a fixing frame, which together with said parts fixed thereto is pushed into a nailing machine, which is then operated to fix nail plates across joints between adjacent parts of the element. Said frame members include side members, at least one of which is a longest side member and at least one of which is an opposite side member which is opposite to a longest side member. The fixing frame also comprises fixing means for fixing said parts of said element of construction in said predetermined configuration to said frame. Said fixing means comprise stationary stops provided on said at least one longest side member and quick-clamping devices provided on said at least one opposite side member and including final tightening means.

    Abstract: An apparatus for drying a continuously moving web has a housing defining a vertical zigzag path having a succession of oppositely directed and inclined stretches each flanked by a pair of parallel and confronting walls each in turn provided with an array of nozzles. Rollers are provided at the ends of the stretches for reversal and guiding of the web, and a blower is provided whose pressure side is connected to the nozzles for creating a gas cushion to each side of the web which supports the web and guides it along the path. Each of the walls is corrugated in a direction perpendicular to the direction of travel of the web, and the nozzles are provided on each side of the crests of the corrugations. The gas cushion is drawn off at the ends of the troughs of the corrugations.

    Abstract: A sound deadening system is provided, comprising a laminate of a covering stratum of closed-cell soft foam having a bulk density of less than about 50 kp/m.sup.3, and a core stratum having cavities and joined to the covering stratum at locations spaced from one another by a distance less than about 10 times the thickness of the covering stratum, the total area of the joinders between the covering stratum and the core stratum being less than about 2/3 of the covering stratum area. The core stratum may have a honeycomb structure, such as expanded sheet metal, a closed-cell soft foam possibly in granular form, etc. The laminate may include additionally an additional covering stratum on the other side of the core stratum or even multiple layers of alternating covering and core strata. A paper sheet may be provided on the last core stratum for cementing to a surface. Reinforcements can be provided embedded in or on the back of the core stratum, e.g. a metal sheet.

    Abstract: An improved, easily disconnectable coupling between a spring-loaded piston and a socket-type sleeve member adapted to receive such piston in a high-pressure radial piston pump is described. The piston terminates at a rear end thereof in an enlarged spherical section that defines a volume smaller than a hemisphere. The socket member includes a spherical recess that receives the spherical section of the piston, and a surrounding edge region that is crimped inwardly at diametrically opposite portions to define a plane of oscillation of the sleeve member with respect to the piston and to capture the spherical member in the sleeve. In order to retain the coupling parts in operative association with each other, an external abutment ring is pressed over the piston adjacent the spherical section, such abutment ring extending radially outward to contact the front end of the sleeve member when the latter has oscillated through a limited predetermined angle with respect to the piston.

To permit the door to be opened into a configuration wherein the panel elements are longitudinally aligned, and to permit the door to be closed into a fully folded position, horizontal brackets are mounted on at least one of each wall panel element pair. Bracket arms extend at an obtuse angle opposite the element in the closed position. A spring set between the free ends of the two opposing brackets exerts torsional forces around the panel element hinge axes. These forces act in a closing direction in a closed folding wall and in an opening direction in an open folding wall.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a handgun intended for one-time use for launching a projectile. The gun is stored in a condition wherein a handle of the gun is folded to cover the trigger. A releasable locking member locks the handle in its folded position. In its folded position, the handle biases a pair of knobs inwardly to prevent actuation of the trigger, while a portion of the trigger engages the firing pin to prevent movement of the firing pin. In the stored condition of the handgun, the firing pin is uncocked and is unable to be moved into a cocked position. The locking member has a guide portion which is slidable within a bore containing the firing pin and its biasing spring. The guide portion acts as an abutment and a guide for the rear end of the spring. In one embodiment of the invention, the locking member is cammed inwardly by the handle as the handle is unfolded, to automatically cock the firing pin spring.
