Patents Assigned to First Circle Medical, Inc.
  • Patent number: 6951219
Abstract: The invention provides a method of treating a patient infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) comprising raising the core temperature of the patient and then returning the core temperature of the patient to normal at least one time, wherein the core temperature is raised to a temperature range and a duration sufficient to reduce or eliminate the patient's viral load of HCV.

  • Patent number: 6336911
Abstract: The invention provides a temperature probe comprising an inlet end opposed to an outlet end; a flow-directing passage defined by a wall; the wall, the inlet end, and the outlet end configured to define a longitudinal axis; a strut attached to the wall at an attachment site, and a temperature sensor located at the distal tip of the strut to position the sensor in the flow of fluid along the longitudinal axis through the passage, wherein the distance from the inlet end to the sensor is less than the distance from the inlet end to the attachment site.

  • Patent number: RE38203
Abstract: A device and method for extracorporeal whole body hyperthermia treatment of a patient's blood using alpha-stat regulation of blood pH and pCO2 is described. The respiratory rate of a patient is either increased or decreased in accordance with the changes in pH, pCO2, and base excess. The regulation of blood during the hyperthermic treatment of the patient's blood stabilizes the biochemical reactions fundamental to the metabolic welfare of the organisms within the patient's blood while the viruses within the patient's blood are eliminated.
