Patent number: 11662104Abstract: A temperature control (“TC”) unit and associated method for providing simultaneous independent temperature control of conditioned air to first and second rooms. The TC unit includes a cabinet. The cabinet may be divided into first and second compartments, the first compartment being adapted to receive and exhaust air from and to, respectively, the first room, and the second compartment being adapted to receive and exhaust air from and to, respectively, the second room. Sound dampening insulation may be positioned between the first and second compartments. First and second evaporators may be positioned within the cabinet so that: air from the first room passes through the first evaporator before exhausting back to the first room; and air from the second room passes through the second evaporator before exhausting back to the second room. The TC unit may be or include a vertical terminal air conditioning (“VTAC”) unit.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2022Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: FIRST CO.Inventors: Greg Nation, Brent Sturgell, Andres Canales

Patent number: 9981303Abstract: A tube expander for heat exchanger coil units according to which a tubular expansion process is conducted. In one aspect, the tube expander includes a fixture, which includes a back unit and first and second door assemblies movably connected thereto. One or more heat exchanger coil units are adapted to be connected to each of the first and second door assemblies. In another aspect, the fixture is adjustable to accommodate different heat exchanger coil units. In yet another aspect, the tubular expansion process is not permitted when the first or second door assembly is closed and a sensor does not sense the presence of a latch bar.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2016Date of Patent: May 29, 2018Assignee: FIRST CO.Inventors: Sergiu Vrabie, Anthony Garrett Orchard, Jessie Doria, Irving George Pennini

Patent number: 4633766Abstract: An adapter (10) as disclosed which is employed to join a heater (12) and an air conditioning evaporator (14) in an air conditioning system. The adapter (10) is provided with a series of slidable panels (60, 62, 64) which permit the adapter to be sized to fit a particular heater (12) by breaking off selected segments of the panels along a series of frangible connections (74, 84). In a second embodiment, an adapter (100) is provided with end panels (108) and side panels (112) which also include segments that can be broken off from the panels along a series of frangible connection (118). The panels (108, 112) are secured about the edges of the frame (102) of the adapter (100).Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1985Date of Patent: January 6, 1987Assignee: First Co.Inventors: James H.
