Abstract: A system for manufacturing elastic strand nonwoven panels including an unwind module, a lamination module and a folding module. Elastic strand material is fed from cores disposed on the unwind module through rollers towards the lamination module, where the elastic strand material is attached to a nonwoven web to form an elastic strand nonwoven web. At the folding module, the elastic strand nonwoven web is folded over itself by operation of plates underneath which the elastic strand nonwoven web is fed under tension.

Abstract: A process for making an elastomeric laminated product including the steps of laminating an elastomeric film between a first spunbond nonvowen layer and a second spunbond nonwoven layer so as to form a laminated web, transporting the laminated web through intermeshing rollers so as to strain portions of the laminated web to form activated regions in the laminated web, and transporting the activated laminated web to a first portion of a rotating wheel, the first portion of the wheel having a cross direction width that is smaller than a cross direction width at a second portion of the wheel, so that the laminated web follows rotation of the wheel and is stretched in the cross direction at the second portion of the wheel before separating from the wheel at the first portion in a relaxed state.

Abstract: An absorbent article that has a reduced tendency to shift when worn. The absorbent article includes a chassis with a front waist portion, a crotch portion, and a back waist portion. Side panels or ears are attached to the front and back waist portions of the chassis, and fastening components are attached to the back ears. Anti-skid elements are added to the outside surface and/or inside surface of the front side panels or ears and/or to the inside surface of the fastening tabs, such as by applying an elastomeric strip in a substantially vertical direction. When the absorbent article is fastened to the wearer attaching the fastening components on the back ears to the front waist portion of the absorbent article, the anti-skid elements interface with the front waist portion, the front ears, and/or the wearer to exert friction and thereby reduce shifting of the fastened absorbent article.
