To allow for escape of air while the piston is being introduced, air passages are provided on the sealing lip. In a wall portion of the side wall, the piston has a non-circular shape so that, in certain regions, the abutment of the piston on the cartridge wall is less close than in other regions. In this manner, the outflow of air to the outside is facilitated. Further, the piston is arranged in its inserted state in a sealing abutment on the cartridge wall, thus precluding ingress of air into the cartridge.

For pressing out the substance contained in the cartridge (25), use is made of a piston (30) which is advanced by a pressure disk (16). The pressure disk (16) can be radially expanded under the influence of the advancement force and thus will press by a spreading edge (49) against the side wall (31) of the piston (30). In this manner, the piston in the region of its side wall (31) is tightly pressed against the cartridge wall. Leakage of substance past the piston (30) is prevented.

Abstract: A press-out device for plastic substances comprises a cartridge (10) including a cylindrical container (11) in which a piston (35) can be displaced for pressing a substance, e.g. a sealing substance or adhesive substance, out of a discharge connector (14). The cartridge (10) is provided with an application nozzle (25) for use in extension of the discharge connector (14). The application nozzle (25) belongs to a reclosable closure assembly. The application nozzle (25) further comprises a hood (27) being movable relative to a nozzle body (26) and having a closure orifice. The closure orifice is followed by a discharge channel (51) delimited by straight side walls. The invention makes it possible to open the cartridge (10) without the need for a tool and to adjust and close the application nozzle (25) without the need for a tool.

Abstract: The two-component cartridge comprises an outer container (10) and an inner container (20) coaxially arranged therein. The inner container (20) comprises a bellows-type section (21) adapted to be folded like an accordion. The rear end of the bellows-type section (21) is inserted into a piston (32). In the folded condition, the bellows-type section is accommodated in an annular space (41) of the piston (32). The piston (32) comprises an annular piston breast (34) and a central piston breast (37) arranged at the same level. The invention allows easy filling of the two-component cartridge from the rear side and almost complete evacuation. The two-component cartridge can be evacuated by means of the same tool as is used for a common cartridge containing only a single material.
