Abstract: A method for splitting tablets includes positioning a plurality of tablets onto a supporting structure. Each of the plurality of tablets are then substantially simultaneously split into at least two parts. Finally, if desired, the at least two parts of each tablet are dispensed into a compartment of a corresponding one of a plurality of first capsule portions.
Abstract: A shipper having an outer housing with a temperature sensitive payload and a temperature/location tracker disposed therein. The outer housing has a body having an interior surface bounding a compartment that is accessed through an opening. A first panel is coupled with the body and configured to extend over at least a portion of the opening, with a first access port extending through the first panel. The payload and temperature/location tracker are disposed within the compartment of the body. The temperature/location tracker includes a first temperature probe, a GPS receiver, a cellular modem, and a GPS antenna. The GPS antenna is disposed so as to be aligned with the first access port when the shipper is in a fully assembled state such that the GPS antenna is directly accessible through the first access port. The temperature/location tracker monitors and periodically transmits temperature and location values of the shipper over a cellular communication network.

Abstract: A blister pack includes a blister card having one or more cavities and a rib formed in the blister card, the rib having an inner surface, and a tether coupled to the inner surface of the rib. Ultrasonically welding the tether within the inner surface of the structural rib provides for an increased bond surface area and increased strength of the couple without sacrificing valuable surface area on the blister pack.
Abstract: A pharmaceutical package assembly includes a tether having a fold-over card mating feature, and a fold-over card configured to house one or more pharmaceutical blisters, wherein the fold-over card includes a tether mating feature. One exemplary method of coupling the fold-over card to a tether includes forming a tether receiving recess in the front side of the fold-over card, folding the front side of the fold-over card adjacent to the back side of the fold-over card so that the tether receiving recess reveals an exposed portion of the fold-over card front side, and coupling the tether to the revealed portion of the card front side.
Abstract: A blister pack includes a cavity sheet including at least one product blister and an access blister associated with each of the at least one product blister, and a child resistant backing coupled to the cavity sheet, the child resistant backing including a weakened pattern corresponding with each of the at least one product blister formed in the cavity sheet, wherein the access blister includes a generally V-indent member configured to initiate a separation of the weakened pattern. The V-indent member focuses forces to allowing easy access to the product blister by adults, including seniors, while maintaining child resistant standards.
Abstract: The invention relates to child-resistant package having a shell with a first locking part and a tray having blister card coupled to a tether having a second locking part. In a closed position the first locking part engages the second locking part to limit the movement of the tray relative to the shell. A release part is provided and is operable to disengage the first and second locking parts and free the tray to move from the closed position to an open position.
