Abstract: There is provided a thermostatic working element comprising: a housing for receiving an expansion medium; an electric heating element arranged in the housing and provided with connecting lines, wherein a base of a bottom side of the housing comprises an opening for passage therethrough of the connecting lines; and a gasket disposed between the electric heating element and the base of the bottom side of the housing, essentially surrounding the opening, wherein the housing further comprises a recess located in proximity to the electric heating element, configured to press the electric heating element and the gasket against the base of the bottom side of the housing and thereby sealing of the housing is facilitated.
Abstract: A thermostat assembly for controlling a flow of a fluid through an aperture, the thermostat assembly comprising: a displaceable valve for controlling the opening and closing of the aperture; a flange and a lower bridge, both configured for securing said displaceable valve in place; a flexible member positioned between said lower bridge and said displaceable valve; wherein said lower bridge comprises a locking mechanism integrally formed therein and configured to lock said displaceable valve in a position where said aperture is open.
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a temperature for an engine by controlling a flow of a liquid engine coolant through a coolant conduit, the apparatus including a thermostat having a temperature responsive valve for substantially blocking and substantially unblocking the flow of the liquid coolant to a radiator. The valve opens as the temperature of the liquid coolant rises and a spring urges the valve to a closed position as the temperature of the fluid falls. An electromechanical actuator is provided outside of the conduit and is controlled by an engine control system in response to engine conditions.
Abstract: A plastic gas cap having a cap element with a plastic skirt having an inner skirt diameter and including ring retaining tabs extending inwardly from the inner skirt, a plug element having a flange at one end sized and shaped to fit within the plastic skirt and past the ring retaining tabs; and a plastic retaining ring having an outer ring diameter and being secured between the flange and the tabs to secure the plug element in the cap element by an interference fit within the inner skirt diameter which reinforces said plastic skirt and makes it more rigid.
