Abstract: Systems and apparatuses include a first tool defining a first aperture, a second tool defining a second aperture, and a connecting mechanism formed of a resilient material and including a first coupling portion sized to engage the first aperture and a second coupling portion sized to engage the second aperture. The connecting mechanism passes through the first tool and the second tool, and engages the first aperture and the second aperture in a storage configuration. The first tool provides a first mode of operation when used independently, the second tool provides a second mode of operation when used independently, and the tool system provides a third mode of operation when arranged in the storage configuration.

Abstract: A clamping mechanism for an adjustable length tool is provided herein. The clamping mechanism includes a body having a top end, a bottom end opposite the top end, and a top portion proximate the top end; and, a lever rotatably coupled to the body between an unlocked position and a locked position, wherein the lever engages with the body during a movement of the lever to the locked position to cause a deformation of the top portion of the body. According to one embodiment, deformation of the top portion of the body is structured to prevent relative movement between an inner pole of the adjustable length tool and the top portion of the body.

Abstract: A solid state tool system includes a first solid state tool, a second solid state tool, and a third solid state tool. In a first mode, the first solid state tool, the second solid state tool, and the third solid state tool are coupled to one another in a storage configuration. In a second mode, the first solid state tool is used as a tool by itself. In a third mode, the second solid state tool is used as a tool by itself. In a fourth mode, the third solid state tool is used as a tool by itself. In a fifth mode, the first solid state tool is coupled to the third solid state tool and used as a first combination tool. In a sixth mode, the second solid state tool is coupled to the third solid state tool and used as a second combination tool.

Abstract: A hand tool includes a first jaw; a first handle coupled to a second jaw, the second jaw pivotably coupled to the first jaw and having a first geared structure, the first geared structure including a first plurality of teeth and a first bearing surface; and, a second handle coupled to a lever, the lever pivotably coupled to the first jaw and including a second geared structure, the second geared structure including a second plurality of teeth and a second bearing surface, wherein the first and second handles are movable between a full open position and a full close position such that during movement from the full open position to the full close position, the first plurality of teeth are at least partially engaged with the second plurality of teeth and the first and second bearing surfaces are in rolling contact.

Abstract: A belt mounting system includes a main body, a device coupled to the main body, a belt mount configured to be coupled to a belt, and a locking element, wherein the locking element is reusable so that the locking element is removable to selectively decouple the main body from the belt mount and insertable to fix the main body to the belt mount through the interconnection of the main body, the belt mount, and the locking element.

Abstract: A multi-purpose tool includes a jaw head, a locking mechanism pivotably attached to the jaw head, a first handle, and a second handle. The jaw head includes a first jaw having a first tang and a second jaw having a second tang. The locking mechanism includes a projection extending from a lock body. The first tang includes a notch, and the first handle includes a notch configured to align with the notch in the first tang. The aligned notches are configured to receive the projection of the locking mechanism when the locking mechanism is in a locked position. The first handle is fixed to the jaw head when the locking mechanism is in the locked position due to the projection of the locking mechanism contacting both of the aligned notches. The first handle can be removed from the first tang when the locking mechanism is in an unlocked position.

Abstract: A hand operated cutting tool includes a first handle coupled to a first cutting member, the first handle having a first set of projections; and, a second handle coupled to a second cutting member and movably coupled to the first handle, the second handle having a second set of projections. The handles are movable between a full open position and a full closed position, wherein a first region of movement is defined by the first and second sets of projections being at least partly engaged, and wherein a second region of movement is defined by the first and second sets of projections being disengaged.

Abstract: A multi-purpose tool includes a jaw head, a first handle removably coupled to the jaw head and a second handle coupled to the jaw head. The first handle includes a body and a hand tool pivotably coupled to the body. The hand tool is moveable between a closed position in which the hand tool is disposed within the body and an open position in which the hand tool extends out of the body. The first handle can be removed from the jaw head to be utilized separately from the jaw head.

Abstract: A skinning knife includes a handle and a blade carrier coupled to the handle, the blade carrier including a mount having a mounting surface, a boss extending outward from the mounting surface, and a spring including a front portion, a middle portion, and a rear portion. The skinning knife also includes a blade including a sharpened edge, a body, and a slot formed through the body, where the slot extends in a longitudinal direction from a front end to a rear end and includes a narrow portion of a first width and a wide portion of a second width greater than the first width. The blade is releaseably secured to the blade carrier by interaction between the boss and the spring of the blade carrier and the slot of the blade.
