Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for sensing the feeding of individual sheets of paper in which the feeding of two or more overlapping sheets can be detected in a sheet feeding apparatus for continuously transferring sheets of paper one by one along a predetermined paper traveling path. The apparatus employs a support plate which allows the sheets of paper to slide, and a contact arm adapted to contact the support plate and to be moved upward by a height corresponding to the thickness of the sheet of paper when the sheet of paper passes between the support plate and the contact arm, instead of using an expensive rollers, bearings or the like as a means for sensing the thickness of a sheet of paper being fed.

Abstract: Disclosed is an automatic teller machine (ATM) including a clutch device for selectively supplying power to a pick-up roller for extracting banknotes from a banknote storage cassette located within the ATM. The clutch device includes a driving gear rotatably mounted to the frame for receiving the rotational driving force from the drive motor to rotate the plurality of driving rollers, an idle gear engaged with the driving gear for rotating in response the rotational movement of the driving gear, a pick-up roller gear fixedly mounted on a rotating shaft of the pick-up roller and engaged with the idle gear for rotating the pick-up roller and, and a motor control means adapted to allow the idle gear to be engaged with or disengaged from the pick-up roller.

Abstract: Disclosed is an automated teller machine (ATM) configured to selectively make a driving roller and a driven roller which transfer banknotes along a predetermined path in the ATM come into or out of contact with each other. In the ATM, a plurality of driven rollers are rotatably installed in a cover plate to make the driven rollers contact corresponding driving rollers by rotating the cover plate toward the driving rollers, or to make the driven rollers separate from the driving rollers by rotating the cover plate in the opposite direction. Thus, even if a banknote moving between a pair of a driving roller and a driven roller comes to a stop due to a jam, the banknote can be easily removed from the pair of rollers just by making the pair of rollers be spaced apart from each other. Therefore, prompt and simplified repair and maintenance are allowed and the ATM can be prevented from malfunctioning due to a banknote jam.
