Abstract: A method and system for folding blanks of corrugated board for the production of folding boxes. The blanks are formed with fold-line structuring such as grooves, scores, perforations or the like aligned at least approximately parallel to the course of the corrugations of the corrugated board and possibly also at right angles thereto. The board can be folded or bent along the fold-line structuring. In the region of at least some of the grooves, scores, perforations or the like aligned at least approximately parallel to the course of the corrugations of the corrugated board along which folding is carried out, a liquid is introduced before the folding operation, as a result of which the corrugated board in the region of the fold-line structuring is made flexible.
