Patents Assigned to Fleetwood Enterprises
  • Patent number: 5501504
Abstract: The present invention pertains to the construction of new and improved motor homes and, more particularly, to the construction of a superstructure platform and the mounting of the platform on a unit chassis. In addition to improving the stability of the vehicle, the present invention also provides rigidity in the motor home, as well as storage space for goods that is easily accessible from the outside of the motor home.

  • Patent number: 5237782
Abstract: A slidable room having an improved slide-out assembly and an improved liquid sealing assembly at an interface between an opening in the recreational vehicle and an exterior wall of the room is provided. The slide-out assembly includes a stationary main frame assembly having a pair of support members held in a fixed parallel relationship, a single transmission mechanism fixedly interposed between the support members, and a slidable support assembly slidably retained in the pair of support members for extending and contracting the room. The liquid sealing assembly is disposed around the interface between the slidable room and the opening in the recreational vehicle's exterior wall. A first flange member is affixed to a top edge and side edges of the slidable room's exterior wall. A second complementary flange member is affixed to a top edge and side edges of the opening in the recreational vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5222287
Abstract: An assembly for enclosing an opening to a compartment in an exterior wall of a recreational vehicle is provided. A door that covers the opening to the compartment is insulated for maintaining an interior of the compartment at a temperature substantially similar to an interior of the recreational vehicle. An improved liquid sealing assembly is affixed between an interface between the door and the opening. The liquid sealing assembly includes a first elongated projection that extends along a top edge and side edges of the opening and a second complementary projection that extends along a top edge and side edges of the door. The projections induce liquid to flow along the lengths thereof to inhibit liquid from entering the compartment.

  • Patent number: 5218792
Abstract: An improved mobile housing structure is provided having a pair of side walls with a plurality of vertical support posts extending upward from a chassis. The vertical support posts are connected to an elongated side wall joint member of a honeycomb configuration. A modular roof section having a plurality of roof support members extending between a pair of roof joint members is formed of a sandwich construction with styrofoam block members adhesively connected to overlapping panels. The roof joint members can be riveted to the side joint members to provide an extremely lightweight and rigid structure that can resist transportational torque stresses.

  • Patent number: 5199230
Abstract: A venetian blind storage assembly for use in storing a venetian blind in a collapsible tent trailer is provided. The assembly includes a venetian blind mounted within a flexible pouch. The assembly is mounted to an interior of the collapsible tent trailer above a window formed in a collapsible side wall of the trailer. The pouch includes a bottom opening extending along the entire length of the venetian blind to allow slats of the venetian blind to be lowered and used as desired while the trailer is expanded. Prior to collapsing the trailer, the slats of the venetian blind are retracted and enclosed within the pouch. The opening of the pouch is shut tightly to completely isolate the venetian blind from the interior of the trailer. Thus, when the trailer is subsequently collapsed into a compact configuration, both the venetian blind and the interior of the trailer are protected from damage.
