Abstract: In a method of assessing the condition of a tubular member, for example a flexible riser, an inert fluid is flowed from a fluid source through a conduit connected to a laminar flow device, which can determine volumetric and/or mass flow rate of the fluid. The fluid is flowed through the laminar flow device into the riser annulus, and flow continues until the fluid pressure within the annulus stabilises. The volume of fluid flowed into the annulus offers an indication of the integrity of the riser, for example, whether any fluid is present therein.
Abstract: A method of assessing the condition of a tubular member comprises driving an ultrasonic probe to fire a short pulse ultrasonic beam at the outer surface of the tubular member and analyzing the reflected signals from the tubular member to assess the condition of the tubular member. The apparatus comprises an ultrasonic probe (22), means for driving the probe to fire a short pulse ultrasonic beam at the outer surface of the tubular member and means for converting the reflected ultrasonic beam into image signals which can be analyzed to assess the condition of the tubular member.
Abstract: An apparatus for repairing a sheath of a pipe includes a sleeve adapted to surround the pipe, at least two circumferential seals between the surface of the pipe and a pressure source for forcing a sealing solution against the surface of the pipe between the two circumferential seals. The apparatus is arranged such that the sleeve is spaced from the outer sheath of the pipe to form a sealed annulus and a sealing solution is introduced into the sealed annulus.

Abstract: A method of monitoring the condition of a flexible pipeline comprising the step of scanning the pipeline with an ultrasonic scanner to produce and/or record a signal indicative or the level of flooding within the annulus of the pipeline and/or indicative of the integrity of the layers of the pipeline.
