Abstract: A convertible sofa bed for recreational vehicles having a storage compartment under the seat bottom provides access to the storage compartment by enabling the raising the seat bottom and supporting the seat bottom by a ratcheting mechanism enabling the seat bottom to be raised to a storage access position, and raised again to unlock and then lowered to a seating position, this motion being accomplished without the use of a separate release for a dead bolt type lock.

Abstract: A locking mechanism for a couch style vehicle seat uses mating channels on the floor and on the leg assembly with a front locking portion enabling tilting for removable and refitting, and have a rotating locking mechanism tailored to the load needs of a couch style vehicle seat.

Abstract: A head rest lock enables the adjusting of the elevational position of a head rest of a vehicle seat having sleeves that serve as vertical guides for support posts having lock notches therein, the notches providing a plurality of vertical height adjustment positions. The sleeves include a lock latch for manually activating the adjustable height mechanism and ribs which prevent inadvertent rotation of said sleeve. The head rest lock is mountable to a bracket or directly to a seat back frame.

Abstract: An improved seat arm for a reclinable recreational vehicle seat is adjustable for pitch, or the angle relative to the seat back for a more comfortable horizontal position relative to the floor of the vehicle and has a memory to maintain angle when the arm is flipped back and returned to the near horizontal position.

Abstract: An improved seating product assembly having detachable arms and a detachable back, and having an improved spring system for a more comfortable sitting. The improved seating product assembly includes an all metal unitized seat spring and frame assembly having insert brackets attached to side potions thereof. Corresponding slide brackets are attached to the seating product arms. The insert brackets are inserted into the slide brackets as the arms are placed downwardly adjacent each side of the seating product, thereby attaching the arms to the unitized seat spring and frame assembly. Similarly, rear slide brackets are attached to the seat back and corresponding insert brackets are mounted to the rear of the seating product assembly. The slide brackets of the seat back are inserted into the rear slide brackets as the seat back is placed downwardly adjacent the back of the seating product, thereby attaching the seat back to the seating product assembly.

Abstract: A vehicle console seat functions as a seat, armrest and beverage container holder for an occupant. The seat back of the console seat can be locked in an upright position and support an occupant sitting on the seat, or the seat back may be released from an upright locked position by applying a lateral force to the side of the seat back, thereby releasing and spring forcing the seat back forward to a fold down position where it can be used as an armrest. The front of the seat may be pivotally opened to expose a beverage container holder. A beverage container holder may also be attached to the rear of the seat.

Abstract: An arrangement of pins and open-mouthed slots provide an apparatus for interconnecting furniture modules to form a sectional sofa in order to enable rapid and easy blind connection, while permitting both ease in disconnection and elimination of stresses on the frames of adjoining sections, through the camming and interlocking action between pins and slots on rails on the respective adjacent modules.

Abstract: A seat spring unit for use in the seats of vehicles, chairs, sofas and the like. The unit utilizes flat spring steel members arranged in a generally parallel arrangement from the front to rear frame members of the seat. Each of the spring steel members is formed with one of more downwardly extending vee-arches near the front and/or rear frame member to provide flexibility, comfort and support for the seat cushions while greatly simplifying the structure of the unit. Additionally, the center portion of each spring member has an upwardly crowned area between the vee-arches to better control the load deflection.

Abstract: A folding sofa bed includes a back, a seat and a forward extension moveable between a generally horizontal, planar array when in the bed configuration and a sofa configuration, wherein the seat and back are generally transverse and in generally horizontal and vertical orientations, respectively, and the forward extension is disposed below a forward edge of the seat portion in a retracted position. Pivoting linkage couples the back and seat as well as the seat and the forward extension, with locking linkage and stops provided for (1) maintaining the extension in the extended, upraised position; (2) maintaining the seat and back in the horizontal, planar configuration; and (3) maintaining the seat and back in fixed relative orientation when in the sofa configuration.

Abstract: A fluid-resistant, upholstered furniture seat is adapted to aid housekeeping and includes a backrest portion, a removable seat portion and a seat portion support frame. The removable seat portion includes a monolithic fluid barrier, either in the form of an upholstery cover or a laminate, disposed over a seat cushion. Fluids spilled on the seat portion are not absorbed by the seat cushion and can easily be cleaned up. The seat portion support frame is formed to provide at least one large opening therein so that when the seat portion is removed, access is provided to the floor area under the furniture seat for easy cleaning.
