  • Patent number: 6244384
Abstract: A hand held transmission fluid exchanger including a housing block having parallel new and used fluid passages therein, such passages being joined by a return passage having a pressure relief valve therein. The method involves connecting such exchanger with a conventional on-demand transmission fluid supply system having a meter therein and holding the dispensing gun open so that flow is controlled by valves incorporated in the exchanger.

  • Patent number: 6035903
Abstract: An automatic transmission fluid changer for connection with a cooling circuit of an automatic transmission, including a used fluid receptacle for collecting fluid pumped from the transmission and a new fluid receptacle for containing new fluid supplied to the transmission. The device monitors the quantity change in the new and used receptacles and regulates the flow of new fluid into the transmission in order to replace the used fluid expelled from the transmission with an equal amount of new fluid.

  • Patent number: 5743357
Abstract: An automatic hand held transmission fluid changer includes a compact housing internally plumbed with a pair of open ended drain and supply tubes for connection at respective first ends with a pair of hoses connected at their respective opposite ends to remote waste and unused fluid tanks. The respective tubes include second ends for connection with a second pair of hoses leading to respective upstream and downstream transmission components for, respectively, withdrawing used fluid from and introducing unused fluid to a transmission. A demand pump is connected in fluid circuit with the supply hose to flow unused fluid from the unused fluid tank to the supply tube. A controller is provided and acts to receive an electric signal proportional to the rate of fluid flow from a flow meter in the drain tube and to manipulate a control valve in the supply tube such that an automatic balancing of flow rates is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5546999
Abstract: An external adapter includes an elongated housing formed with a pair of internal open ended longitudinal fluid passageways defining, respectively, a used fluid and an unused fluid passageway. The used fluid passageway is internally threaded at one end thereof for engagement with a mounting fitting formed on a transmission filter mount for vehicles with external transmission fluid filters. The opposite end of the used fluid passageway is threaded for engaging one end of a used fluid fitting which includes an opposite end for connection to a drain hose for withdrawing used fluid from the used fluid fitting. The unused fluid passageway includes a first end which aligns with at least one filtered fluid port on the filter mount when the adapter is engaged with the mounting fitting.
