The grass has an improved density and winter color over the commercially available Tifdwarf cultivar of bermudagrass. The grass is clearly differentiated from Tifdwarf bermudagrass by DNA fingerprints generated through the use of multiplex DNA amplification fragment length polymorphism techniques.
