  • Patent number: 11719729
Abstract: A system for monitoring power flow at a premises can include a smart meter that measures coarse power flow data for the premises. The coarse power flow data characterizes power consumption and/or power generation. The system can also include a power data recorder having a first transceiver that communicates with the smart meter via a first protocol. The power data recorder can have a second transceiver that communicates with a node on a data mesh network via a second protocol. The smart meter transmits the coarse power flow data to a node on a meter mesh network in response to polling for the coarse power flow data, and the smart meter transmits the coarse power flow data to the power data recorder via the first protocol in response to detecting a fault condition or after a time interval has expired. The power data recorder encapsulates the coarse power flow data.

  • Patent number: 11682094
Abstract: Systems and methods to process many power line-down reports. A number of power line-down reports are received from different devices operated by users that specify the location of its device. Based on locations of devices sending the reports, a related set of power line-down reports is determined that likely report a particular power line-down condition. Based on those locations and power line location information, a location of the particular power line-down condition is determined that is a location of a power line that is closest to all locations in the related reports. Based on the related set of reports, a consolidated power line-down report is created with data associated with the particular power line-down condition. The consolidated power line-down report is reported to a power grid trouble report system.

  • Patent number: 11664010
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a natural language domain corpus to train a machine learning natural language understanding process. A base utterance expressing an intent and an intent profile indicating at least one of categories, keywords, concepts, sentiment, entities, or emotion of the intent are received. Machine translation translates the base utterance into a plurality of foreign language utterances and back into respective utterances in the target natural language to create a normalized utterance set. Analysis of each utterance in the normalized utterance set determines respective meta information for each such utterance. Comparison of the meta information to the intent profile determines a highest ranking matching utterance within the normalized utterance set. A set of natural language data to train a machine learning natural language understating process is created based on further natural language translations of the highest ranking matching utterance.

  • Patent number: 11635796
Abstract: A power grid monitoring system for determining a cause of a lateral trouble ticket. The power grid monitoring system can determine a cause of a lateral trouble ticket in response to receiving the lateral trouble ticket. The power grid monitoring system associates a set of smart meters with a first, penultimate and last transformer downstream from a given lateral. The power grid monitoring system pings each smart meter in the set of smart meters to indicate a state of the first, penultimate and last transformers of the given lateral. Accordingly, the power monitoring system determines a cause of a lateral trouble ticket associated with the given lateral based on results of the pings to the set of smart meters associated with the first, last and penultimate transformers. The power grid monitoring system can further augment the lateral trouble ticket with information characterizing the cause of the lateral trouble ticket.

  • Patent number: 11481581
Abstract: A system and method for adjusting estimated number of customers affected by an electrical power distribution network incident. Incident reports indicating a number of affected customers and an incident definition for incidents occurring over an accumulation time are accumulated, where each incident report. For each incident report, a signature is determined based on characterizing respective incidents and includes respective characteristics of the incidents associated with each incident report. A subject incident report is received subsequent to the accumulation time. A signature is determined for the subject incident report.
