Patent number: 8453876Abstract: A combination dispense and recirculation valve assembly is disclosed for viscous fluids. The assembly easily moves between a dispense and a recirculation position. Therefore, a pump linked to the canister of fluid being dispensed can be run continuously, intermittently or on demand. After the dispense, the actuator moves the valve stem downward to block any further dispense and the pump recirculates fluid upward past an upper valve element and upper valve seat into a recirculation outlet and back into the canister. In the closed position, the valve chamber is sealed to prevent air from causing any remaining colorant to dry. When a dispense is desired, the actuator simply raises the valve stem upward so the upper valve element engages the upper valve seat thereby preventing fluid from being recycled and directing all fluid downward past the lower valve element and out through the nozzle.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2009Date of Patent: June 4, 2013Assignee: Fluid Management Operations LLCInventor: William A. Miller

Patent number: 8413847Abstract: A fluid dispenser is disclosed for dispensing multiple fluids and that includes valve assemblies with rotary recirculation and dispense valves. A table controlled by a motor and a controller moves all of the valve assemblies to either a dispense position or a recirculation position together. The controller selectively operates the pump motors associated with individual canisters of fluid so that the system can dispense a single fluid or multiple fluids at a time. When in the recirculation position, the fluids can be continuously, intermittently or periodically recirculated to maintain the fluids in a homogenous state.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2010Date of Patent: April 9, 2013Assignee: Fluid Management Operations LLCInventor: William A. Patent number: 8353690Abstract: A pair of dual chamber mixing pumps are combined which allow for a constant dispense rate profile using motor speed modulation. Each pump is divided into two chambers, the proximal chamber and the distal chamber. The chambers are defined in part by a piston having proximal and distal ends and recessed sections. The pump utilizes one common driving mechanism to axially rotate and laterally reciprocate the piston to provide continuous pumping of fluids with reduced pulsations. Each fluid enters through its own pump inlet and outlet. The pumps are operated 90° out of phase with respect to each other.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2010Date of Patent: January 15, 2013Assignee: Fluid Management Operations LCCInventors: Tim P.
