Publication number: 20250011125Abstract: A dynamic tension control system is described herein for driving linear material off a roll in a controlled manner. The dynamic tension control system may include a frame, a shaft for holding a roll of linear material, a motor for driving the shaft, and a dancer tensioning control system for controlling the motor. The dancer tensioning control system may include an actuator assembly through which the linear material passes and a proximity sensor for detecting whether the actuator assembly is proximate to the proximity sensor. When the linear material is pulled from the roll, tension is created in the linear material, which lifts the actuator assembly away from the proximity sensor. The dynamic tension control system may be configured to command, based on detecting that the actuator assembly is not proximate to the proximity sensor, the motor to drive the shaft to unwind linear material from the roll.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 18, 2024Publication date: January 9, 2025Applicant: Flynt Amtex, Inc.Inventors: James Austin Wright, III, Ray Hugh Baynard, Jr.

Patent number: 10385484Abstract: A circular knit fabric for use as ear loops on face masks. The fabric includes a circular knit tubular textile having loops containing at least one inelastic yarn and at least one separate elastic yarn. The finished tubular textile has a maximum relaxed width of less than about ΒΌ inches. In a relaxed state of the tubular textile, the at least one inelastic yarn has at least twice the length of the at least one elastic yarn. The textile has less than 16 loops per course such that the relaxed tubular textile produces a more pillowed structure for increased comfort and the capability for increased elongation.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2016Date of Patent: August 20, 2019Assignee: Flynt Amtex, Inc.Inventors: Beamon McKinley Wyrick, John Anthony Kranaskas

Patent number: 6381993Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing large rolls of tubular fabric knitted on a small diameter circular knitting machine of the type having fabric takedown rollers for pulling the fabric from the knitting cylinder, and a takeup roller for winding up the fabric into a roll, including a traversing mechanism that is operatively associated with and positioned upstream of the tubular fabric takedown rollers so that the fabric is moved back and forth along the length of the take down rollers, so that the width of the fabric roll wound upon the takeup roller is substantially the length of the take down rollers. Further, the fabric leaving the takedown rollers is surface driven to provide constant speed and tension.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2001Date of Patent: May 7, 2002Assignee: Flynt Amtex, Inc.Inventor: Hermann Daiber
