Abstract: A remote control having a touch-sensitive control panel and a transmission unit for transmitting encoded signals which are produced on the basis of a direction of movement of contact with successive regions of the control panel, regardless of the location at which contact is made with the control panel. It is also possible to produce encoded signals on the basis of a movement by the remote control in combination with a motion sensor.
Abstract: The remote control system (1) has a battery compartment, which is disposed in a housing and which is closed by means of a removable cover lid (4). The cover lid (4) is held to the housing by means of at least one permanent magnet (6, 7).
Abstract: The invention relates to a multimedia arrangement comprising a remote control (1) having a keypad (4) with only six control buttons (5-10). All functions of the multimedia device (2) can be controlled via three menu levels, an object group being selectable in the first menu level, an object being selectable in the second menu level, and an action to be performed with the object being selectable in the third. Elements of the object groups, objects, and actions are displayed in fields on the display device in a vertical column (31) and a horizontal line (32), the column (31) and the line (32) intersecting in a focus field (33). The elements of the fields can be moved by the control buttons (5-8) in the fixed focus field, and can be activated there by a selection button (9). Selection and arrangement of the elements is done by a user database (20) in the multimedia device depending on data determined by an identification device of the remote control.
Abstract: A remote control having a touch-sensitive key pad, an energy store, a transmitter, two plates joined together on which these are arranged, and a position sensor which provides an on/off function depending on its position or orientation.
Abstract: The invention relates to a multimedia device comprising a remote control system for wirelessly controlling a multimedia appliance. In order to establish a connection between a remote control system and a multimedia appliance, the remote control system must identify itself to the multimedia appliance, by means of a hardware device, especially a SIM card. The individual user must also identify him/herself to the multimedia appliance, by means of a hardware device for detecting biometric data. The respective identification data is encoded by means of asymmetrical cryptography. During the initialisation process between said two appliances, data encoded for the identification of the remote control system and each person is transmitted to the multimedia appliance and stored therein in an encoded manner.
Abstract: A multimedia assembly with a programmable universal remote control unit, which is configured to “learn” remote control codes from original remote control units, and which provides that remote control signals are transmitted from original remote control units to the control unit where they are analyzed, decoded, and newly encoded; and wherein newly encoded signals are then transmitted from the control unit to the universal remote control unit that is to be programmed, where they are stored in a memory.
Abstract: A programmable remote control and programming method for a remote control employing an original remote control and an internal or external database in which a plurality of code combinations is stored. When a first code assigned to a predetermined button is received, it is selected in the database which code combinations contain this code assigned to the predetermined function. If several code combinations are selected, then prompts are displayed for a second code and possibly additional codes for other buttons or combinations of buttons and, in the database, the code combinations in which there are corresponding matches between codes and button functions are selected. This process is repeated until only a single code combination is selected. All of the codes for the selected code combination are then imported and assigned to the individual buttons or combinations of buttons.
Abstract: The customizable remote control for control of interactive multimedia devices, especially a set-top box (15), has a first hardware device, especially a fingerprint reader (15), by means of which authorized persons can be unambiguously identified. Moreover, the remote control has a second hardware device, preferably a SIM card reader (16a), for the unambiguous identification of the remote control (12). This ensures that only authorized remote controls (12) can communicate with and control the set-top box (5) and also that new entry or changes of user data of authorized persons can only be done with the second device, especially a SIM card (16).
