Abstract: A vibratory apparatus for use with associated vibratory conveyance equipment includes a pair of counter-rotating shafts respectively carrying counter-rotating eccentrically mounted weights for generating vibratory forces attendant to counter-rotation of the shafts. Economical manufacture of the apparatus is promoted by providing a toothed belt drive for effecting counter-shaft rotation, with externally-mounted bearing assemblies provided to facilitate periodic bearing maintenance. A housing of the apparatus is configured as a fabricated composite beam assembly to promote economical manufacture, and mounting and integration of the vibratory apparatus with associated vibratory feed equipment.
Abstract: A sealing assembly (40) for fitting between an upper wellhead connector (12) and a lower wellhead housing or hub 14. Upper wellhead connector (12) has a downwardly facing frusto-conical sealing surface (32) and wellhead housing (14) has an upwardly facing frusto-conical sealing surface (34). Sealing assembly (40) includes a metal ring (42) having annular grooves (58) therein to receive elastomeric sealing elements (60) therein. Elastomeric sealing elements (60) have extending lips (62) for contacting and sealing against adjacent sealing surfaces (32, 34) spaced from opposed frusto-conical surfaces (54, 56) on the metal ring (42) to provide elastomeric seals for the sealing surfaces (32, 34) of wellhead connector (12) and wellhead housing (14).

Abstract: An improved process for the difluoromethylation of a 1-(optionally substituted)phenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-one at the 4-position of the triazole ring with chlorodifluoromethane significantly reduces the cycle time required for the reaction. The improvement comprises reacting the triazolinone with potassium carbonate in a glyme solvent, heating one molar equivalent of a sodium or potassium salt of the triazolinone with 0.1 to 1 molar equivalent of potassium carbonate and 1.5 to 1.8 molar equivalents of chlorodifluoromethane in a glyme solvent, the concentration the triazolinone in the glyme being in the range of 5 to 15 percent weight/volume, at a temperature in the range of 165.degree. to 200.degree. C. for 5 to 30 minutes, with a 10 to 15 percent molar excess of chlorodifluoromethane, either at atmospheric pressure under an inert atmosphere or in a sealed autoclave, and recovering the difluoromethylated triazolinone.

Abstract: A consumable probe is installed in an elbow zone of a well. The consumable probe is subject to ablation caused by abrasive particles suspended in the fluid being transported by the conduit. As the probe is ablated pressure sensitive chambers will be exposed and the pressure in the conduit will pressurize the pressure sensitive chambers and signal a readout station in a position remote from the location of the probe in the conduit.

Abstract: A tubing hanger has an exterior surface and carries a seal arranged inwardly of this surface. The seal has two sealing portions and, when the hanger is located in a wellhead, the seal is engaged by an activating device operated by a piston to force one sealing portion into engagement with the tubing hanger and the other portion into engagement with the wellhead. The movement of the piston can be reversed to break the seals.

Abstract: A bag-making apparatus is configured for automatic positioning of a plurality of attachments of the apparatus which are in operative association with a web of bag-making material. The adjustment apparatus is configured to effect conjoint translational movement of the plurality of attachments along an attachment bed of the apparatus thus providing highly accurate and automated positioning of the attachments attendant to changes in print repeat length of the web. In the illustrated embodiment, the adjustment mechanism includes a pivotably mounted lever arm which extends generally along the length of the attachment bed, with a system of gear racks operatively interconnected with the lever arm for effecting conjoint translational movement of the attachments. Automatic controls of the arrangement effect automated adjustment during dwell or stop periods of bag making, and also facilitate reconfiguration of the apparatus for making bags of differing print repeat lengths.
