Abstract: A method for handling flat objects, in particular sanitary products, such as nappies, sanitary towels or the like, wherein a group of objects is subjected to a compression operation in a compression device so that the group of objects has a degree of compression as a result of the compression. A plurality of compression devices are arranged one after the other so that the group of objects which is compressed with a compression device is supplied to the following compression device with the respective degree of compression thereof and is further compressed in this compression device in order to achieve a higher degree of compression.

Abstract: A device and a method for filling bags with products, wherein the bags have an opening via which the bags are each filled with at least one product, wherein walls of the bag are spaced apart from one another in the region of the opening in order to introduce the at least one product into the bag via the opening, and wherein, after the walls are spaced apart and before the at least one product is supplied, holding elements are introduced into the bag through the opening in order to hold the open bag in the region of the opening. At least some holding elements have at least one shaping element against which a wall of the bag bears in each case such that the material of the wall is preferably plastically deformed in order to hold the wall on the respective holding element via the respective shaping element.

Abstract: A packet for cigarette industry products, having a casing which at least partially surrounds a group of cigarette industry products as the packet content, wherein the casing is formed from a packaging material, and wherein folding tabs of the packaging material are connected to one another by seams, in which the casing is formed from a paper-based packaging material, and a corresponding method.

Abstract: An application device for applying a flowable medium onto a substrate, having a discharge valve having a closure member which, in its open position, releases a metering opening of the discharge valve, such that the flowable medium can flow through the metering opening in the direction of the substrate, wherein the closure member is movable by an electromagnet of the discharge valve from a closing position, in which it closes the metering opening, to an open position, and having a main control unit, which is connected to the discharge valve, and which delivers electrical output voltage signals which moves and maintains the closure member to the open position. A modification unit is arranged between the main control unit and the discharge valve, which is configured such it receives output voltage signals from the main control unit, modifies these signals and relays the latter in a modified form to the electromagnet.

The method includes conveying the products in multiple tracks to the filling installation, grouping the products to form product groups, feeding the product groups in multiple tracks to a common revolving vertical conveyor of the filling installation, conveying the product groups to an ejection position from which the product groups are conveyed onward in a single track to an offered-up container, and filling the offered-up container with at least one of the product groups.

Abstract: A valve arrangement for applying flowable medium to a substrate, having a main valve body with a medium channel for flowable media which is able to be closed by a movable closure member and to which a nozzle part having a nozzle opening of the valve arrangement is connected, wherein the valve arrangement has a pivotable lever movable out of a fastening position and into a releasing position, wherein the pivotable lever, during the movement from the fastening position into the releasing position, exerts a detaching force on the nozzle part in order to support the detachment of the nozzle part from the main valve body. In a first phase of its movement out of the fastening position and into the releasing position, the lever is movable in a straight line and exerts the detaching force on a push-off surface of the nozzle part, and entrains the nozzle part.

Abstract: A method and to a device for handling hygiene products, in particular nappies, wherein the products are transported by a feed conveyor in a first transport direction into compartments of a removal conveyor, in particular a grouping conveyor, which transports the products in a second transport direction, wherein the second transport direction extends transversely, in particular perpendicularly, to the first transport direction. At least one intermediate conveyor which serves to reduce the transport speed of the products in the first transport direction is located between the feed conveyor and the removal conveyor.

Abstract: A method for strapping a group of packages, in particular for products of the cigarette industry, with a strip of packaging material, wherein the packages are brought together to form a cuboid group and are then strapped with at least one strip of packaging material. The at least one strip of packaging material is provided on one side with a preferably continuous layer of adhesive, and the group of packages is completely strapped with the at least one strip of packaging material, wherein the layer of adhesive is brought into direct contact with the packages of the group.

Abstract: A method and device for examining rod-shaped products of the cigarette industry, having a cylindrical lateral surface and two end faces formed by two filter elements arranged at opposite ends, the product having smokable material between the two end faces, by: a) irradiating the lateral surface using examination light whereby the examination light penetrates through the lateral surface at least partially into the product and at least partially exits again through one end face, the beams of which are incident on the lateral surface at an angle of at least 30° in relation to the longitudinal extension of the product; b) acquiring the examination light exiting the end face of the product using an electro-optical receiver, the main viewing direction of which is directed onto the end face; and c) evaluating the brightness or light intensity of the examination light exiting the end face and acquired by the electro-optical receiver.

There is provision for walls of the collar to extend from a front side of the box portion up to the region of an opposing rear side of the box portion on which the line hinge is also located.
