Abstract: A powerful throughput magazine of the ‘first in first out’ type is activated for the handling of diapers (10) or similar objects during the transport from a converter (13) to a packer (14), the diapers being transported as diaper groups (19) through said magazine. The magazine (15) comprises of an endless magazine conveyor (18) having transversely directed bars (20), wherein one diaper group (19) each is disposed between adjacent bars on the magazine conveyor (18) in an upright position. After removing the diapers (10) from the magazine (15), the diaper groups (19) are separated again, and the diapers are individually fed to the packer (14).

Abstract: For the purpose of packaging diapers (10), the latter are fed to a grouping arrangement (13) in order to produce diaper groups (20, 21) from a plurality of diapers (10) positioned closely one beside the other. The diaper groups (20, 21) are fed along a plurality of conveying paths, in particular along two removal conveyors (35, 36) located one beside the other or one above the other, to a (multi-path) packaging machine or a plurality of packaging machines.

Abstract: A cigarette pack of the hinge-lid-box type comprises an outer pack (13) and an inner pack which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction within the outer pack (13). A hinge lid (36) is fitted on one side of the outer pack (13). This hinge lid is moved into an open position by displacement of the inner pack (12) relative to the outer pack (13), to be precise by an opening force being transmitted by means of a pushing-action tab (27) arranged within the pack.

Abstract: For supplying machines, namely packaging machines, with web-like packaging material which is present in the form of a reel, a reel store (15) is fitted out with a portal (16), in which the reels (10 . . . 13) are kept on pallets (14). A portal robot (20) with an articulated arm (27) transfers reels (10 . . . 13) as required to winding subassemblies (29 . . . 32) arranged outside the portal (16). From these winding subassemblies, the material webs are transported toward opposite sides, in the direction parallel to the longitudinal extent of the portal (16), to the consuming machines.

Abstract: In order to treat cut tobacco so as to loosen and homogenize the same, a tobacco stream (12, 16) passes through a plurality of processing stations (18, 19, 20), in the region of which the tobacco is loosened, during transportation, with the aid of different processing arrangements. The tobacco stream or main stream here is divided up into a plurality of smaller sub-streams during treatment.

Abstract: For the purpose of handling tobacco bags (10) made of sheet material, a plurality of unfilled bags (10) are fed to a transfer station (29) and transferred simultaneously, by a transfer subassembly (31), to a further-processing subassembly, namely to a bag turret (30) arranged above a bag conveyor (28). During transfer, the bags (10) are transported along an upwardly directed movement path and turned through 180° in the process.

Abstract: Cigarette packs of the hinge-lid-box type with an outer wrapping of shrinkable film are transported through a shrinkage station (22) in two pack rows (26, 27), in each case comprising individual packs. In the region of said shrinkage station, shrinkage elements, namely heating plates (24, 25; 45, 46), subject the upper side and/or lower side of the packs (10), during a standstill phase of the same, to (contact) heat. The packs (10) are transported such that the lower side and the upper side are simultaneously or consecutively exposed for contact by the heating plates.

Abstract: An apparatus for handling stacks (18) of printing media (11) which are arranged above one another and are made from packaging material, in particular a magazine (16) for excise stamps, coupons or the like, preferably within an apparatus for producing packs (10) for cigarettes, having a shaft (19) for receiving the stack (18), which shaft (19) is delimited at least partially by preferably stationary walls (20) and is, in particular, upright. The shaft (19) can have at least one suction device (25) which acts in regions on the stack (18) in order to hold and/or align the printing media (11) on the wall (20) by means of vacuum.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of pouches (30) from foil (44) or the like for bulk goods or fibrous material, preferably for tobacco (31), wherein a continuous foil web (44) and/or at least one further continuous material web (41) are guided along at least one welding station (45, 46, 47, 104), at which portions of the foil (33a) (and/or of the at least one further material (41) are welded, preferably to other portions of the foil (34a) and/or to the further material (41), in particular to parts of a multiaction sealing means (41). In this method, the foil web (44) and/or the at least one further material web (41) are guided, in particular cyclically, at least approximately in a vertical direction along the at least one welding station (45, 46, 47, 104), and/or the continuous foil web (44) and/or the at least one further material web (41) are welded, in particular cyclically, by ultrasonic welding.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for filling, closing, folding and transporting away tobacco bags (10) or pouches, using a turret (24) that rotates about a horizontal axis and has preferably six mounts (28), each for one bag (10), arranged along the circumference in the region of planar wall portions (29). The bags are conveyed through a plurality of processing stations, in particular through a filling station, suction-extraction station, closing station and wrapping station, by the turret (24) with cyclic rotary movement. A plurality of sub-turrets, each with corresponding mounts (28), can be arranged one beside the other in the axial direction.

Abstract: For the heat treatment of cigarette packs (10) having an outer wrapper made of shrink film, the packs (10) can be conveyed in pairs, one above the other, through a shrink-fitting subassembly (20). During a standstill phase, heating plates (22, 23, 24) butt against upwardly and downwardly oriented pack surfaces in order to transmit heat. The heating plates (22, 24) can be moved upward and downward in order that the pack (10) is free of loading during the conveying cycle.

Abstract: In order to manufacture folding packets having a packet part (11), a lid (12) and a collar (13), a single-piece blank is used, in which a collar (13) is connected to a main blank (14) via connecting webs (15, 16). The collar (13) is connected to a connecting web (15) via an edge-side collar folding line, and the connecting webs (15, 16) are connected to the main blank (14) via transversely oriented web folding lines (41, 42), with the result that the collar (13) can be moved into the position with two folding steps which follow one another.

Abstract: To test the integrity of packages—cups (11)—a package conveyor (14) is provided, on whose conveying run (17) the cups (11) are positioned at a distance from one another, specifically in a correct formation forming transverse rows (23). In order to form a sealed testing chamber (13) for a group of cups (11) to be tested, a covering hood (19) can be lowered from above onto the package conveyor (14). Together with the covering hood (19), the latter forms a sealed testing chamber (13). A vacuum is produced in the latter, with the consequence that the packages experience deformation, specifically the cups (11) experience deformation of a closure film. Non-sealed cups (11) are identified and separated out.

Abstract: In a hinge-lid box comprising a box part (13), lid and collar (15), the collar (15) is configured such that the collar side tabs (29, 30) lie at a distance from the box side walls (26). The collar side tabs (29, 30) are supported by supporting tabs (35, 36; 40, 41) on the box side walls (26).

Abstract: A method and device to form packing units (12) consisting of at least two packs (10, 11). To this end, the successively conveyed packs (10, 11) are tilted by 90° in the region of a turning line (20) in such a way that the associated packs (10, 11) are oriented towards each other in the correct relative position for the packing unit (12). Every second pack (11) is delayed during the turning process so that it can be oriented towards the associated pack (10).
