Abstract: An assembly for purifying the gases and combustion fumes from a heating apparatus, particularly from a closed chimney furnace of the type using a catalyst device (7) in the gas and combustion fume exhaust duct (5). The assembly has an electrically powered rapid acting heater for raising the temperature, in and/or near the catalyst device (7), to initiate a catalytic reaction. A temperature-sensitive sensor or detector (12) is provided in the control circuit (11) of the heater. The assembly is of interest to builders of heating apparatuses using solid fuel, particularly wood.

Abstract: An improved guillotine-type door for a fireplace enclosure. An improved guillotine-type door, characterized by the fact that it opens by rotating around a lower pivoting axis (15), the ends of which are lower fingers (13) for guidance along vertical glides, the said lower fingers receiving the end attachment of the movable connection to the auxiliary mechanical device (31) for maneuvering, and being immobilized in the bottom lower position by a holding device (22), and by the fact that each vertical glide has a device for lateral disengagement at the level of each upper finger (14), for the purpose of allowing the door to be inclined, then pivoted around the lower axis (15). This invention is of interest for manufacturers of fireplace enclosures.
Abstract: Apparatus for carrying out a postcombustion process includes a combustion chamber (2) and a post-combustion chamber (4) provided within the vicinity of the outlet of the combustion chamber (2). A conduit (8) is fluidically connected to the post-combustion chamber (4) so as to inject fresh combustion air thereinto. A heating device (9) is disposed within the conduit (8) for pre-heating the fresh combustion air to be injected into the post-combustion chamber (4). Various sensors (11,12,14) are provided within the combustion chamber (2), post-combustion chamber (4), and conduit (8), and an electronic control circuit (13) is operatively connected to the sensors (11,12,14) as well as to the heating device (9) so as to control the heating device (9) in response to detected sensed signals from the sensors (11,12,14).
