Abstract: A bolt-retaining strip for a fender support arm may include a base with a first surface configured to be seated against an elongated support member, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a hole dimensioned to receive a shank of a bolt extending from the first surface to the second surface. A first arm and a second arm extending from the second surface may be positioned on opposite lateral sides of the hole so that the head of the bolt can be received therebetween. A lip may extend from a respective interior surface of each of the first and second arms towards the opposite arm and can be dimensioned to extend over a portion of the head of the bolt. A flange may be positioned proximate each of the first and second arms and can be configured to restrict rotation of the bolt relative to the hole.

A mounting plate is secured within the internal channel in the proximal end portion of the shell. The mounting plate includes a fastener opening, which receives a fastener to secure the arm to a vehicle. The distal end portion of the shell is adapted to be fastened to the fender.

Abstract: Mud flap hanger is disclosed which includes a post member that is configured to allow attachment of the hanger to a vehicle and a hanger arm extending from the post member having a flexible core of a composite material, for example, a fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) and that is clad with a substantially inelastic polymer. Preferably, the hanger arm is formed with a cross-section shape of a polygon so that clips for hanging the mud flap from the arm may be conformed to that polygonal shape.

Abstract: A mounting assembly for mud flaps has an elongated mounting arm defining an interior elongated chamber with a slot opening at the bottom. The assembly includes a one or more biased clips that attach to the top edge of the mud flap, which is inserted into the chamber with the lower portion of the mud flap extending through the bottom slot and the clips seated within the chamber. The clips include a pair of protrusions that engage the interior of the chamber, and are configured such that sufficient downward force on the mud flap causes the clip to open and release the mud flap.

Abstract: A mudflap retainer comprising two halves wherein each half has protrusions to extend through the standard hole placements of the mudflap. The halves are mated together through the mudflap creating a wedge at the top of the mudflap. The mudflap can then be inserted through a slot in a mudflap hanger assembly wherein the wedge created by the retainer couples with the mudflap hanger assembly.

Abstract: A mudflap assembly comprising a bracket for connection to a vehicle and a swiveling support is claimed. A mudflap hanger arm rotatably couples with the bracket via a hinged pin joint. A ramping sleeve is coupled to the pin between the hanger arm and bracket on one end, and a spring installed on the other end provides compressive force against the hanger arm when it travels up the ramping sleeve in response to a horizontal force.

Abstract: A mudflap assembly comprising a bracket for connection to a vehicle and a swiveling support is claimed. A mudflap support bar is connected to an upper end of the swiveling support for supporting a mudflap. The bracket rotatably receives the free lower end of the swiveling support hanger and maintains the mudflap support bar in an initial resting position until the support bar is acted upon by a horizontal force. A spring installed on the free lower end of the swiveling support hanger provides compressive force against the bracket.
