Patent number: 8193119Abstract: A process for the manufacture of an aqueous composition that is a combination of a fungicide and fertilizer comprising the following steps: (1) dissolving phosphorous acid in phosphoric acid to form a solution of an acid mixture; (2) reacting the acid mixture of step (1) with an aqueous potassium hydroxide solution at a temperature of about 65° C. to about 260° C. in a continuous reactor while maintaining the ratio of potassium to phosphorous in various mole ratios thereby forming a reaction mixture comprising potassium phosphates, potassium polyphosphates, potassium phosphites, and potassium polyphosphites and potassium phosphate phosphite copolymers; and, (3) cooling the reaction mixture rapidly at least 1° C. to 60° C., to below about 35° C. to about 65° C. Using a similar process a composition having fungicidal properties is prepared by reaction phosphoric acid with potassium hydroxide. The reaction mixtures prepared according to each of the above processes are also part of this invention.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2011Date of Patent: June 5, 2012Assignee: Plant Food Systems, Inc.Inventors: Carl J. Patent number: 8025008Abstract: A kebab machine (10) is disclosed for inserting sticks (12) into various food components (14a-f), such as meat, vegetables and the like, automatically. The food components are held within carriers (500, 600) while the individual sticks are conveyed by a stick conveyor (22). The sticks are driven through the carriers (500, 600) and food components therein to form the kebab. As the carriers (500, 600) pass over a sprocket (66), adjacent carrier elements (502, 602) tilt relative each other with finger like extensions (504, 506, 604, 606) tilting up to release and eject the kebabs from the carriers for further processing.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2008Date of Patent: September 27, 2011Assignee: Automated Food Systems, Inc.Inventor: Robert D. Patent number: 5971020Abstract: A rotary coupling for communicating a pneumatic signal from a stationary pneumatic source to an apparatus. The rotary coupling has a housing and a rotating portion that rotates with respect thereto. The housing has at least two inlets in fluid communication with the pneumatic source. The rotating portion has at least two outlets in fluid communication with the apparatus. Inlet and outlet pairs are aligned radially relative to an axis of rotation of the rotating portion so that they are in fluid communication when the rotating portion is at an angular orientation at which the inlet and outlet pair are coincident. More than one inlet may be paired with an outlet, and vice versa. Channels can be formed to allow the inlet and outlet pairs to be in fluid communication when they are not coincident. Inlets and outlets can also be radially spaced different distances from the axis of rotation such that fluid communication between these inlets and outlets are blocked at all angular orientations of the rotating portion.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1998Date of Patent: October 26, 1999Assignee: Raque Food Systems, Inc.Inventors: Glen F. Patent number: 5697490Abstract: A carrier secures articles while the carrier is drawn by a carrier transport mechanism of a conveyor system along a series of stations adjacent to processing equipment that can perform operations on the article. The carrier has a base and one or two arms that are attached to the base at one end. The other ends of the arms supports walls. The arms move relative to the carrier base between an article-engaging position where the walls prevent the article from moving off the carrier base to a down-out-of-the-way position where the walls lie below the carrier base allowing movement of the article on or off the carrier base. Wheels are attached to the ends of the arms supporting the walls and a wheel guide track attached to the conveyer system moves the arms between the article-engaging position and the down-out-of-the-way position at desired points along the conveyer system.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1995Date of Patent: December 16, 1997Assignee: Raque Food Systems, Inc.Inventor: Glen Raque

Patent number: 5413245Abstract: A vending system employs a vending machine with a cylindrical body and removably mounted top and bottom endpieces that allow the external appearance of the machine to be changed according to the type of product to be vended. The ornamentation can be formed in shapes resembling standard types of beverage cans, bottles, and other types of containers. A preferred version of the machine has two arcuate doors on opposing sides of the machine to allow vending access and refilling on both sides of the machine. Door-mounted components, including payment mechanism, selection buttons, and dispenser slot, are arranged vertically in a line at the deepest part of the door, and an offset two-array stacking configuration of the beverage units is used to obtain an optimal storage capacity of the machine. Other versions include a full cylindrical version or a semi-cylindrical one with one door for installations allowing vending access from the front only.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1992Date of Patent: May 9, 1995Assignee: Wright Food Systems, Inc.Inventor: Christopher B. Patent number: 5350056Abstract: A self-supporting conveyor belt a portion of the length of which follows a helical conveying path comprising a plurality of stacked tiers. The belt includes a plurality of interconnected pivotal link members by which the belt can either collapse or extend along a side edge thereof to follow a curved path. Secured to the link members are wire-formed spacers which extend between adjacent belt tiers, the wire-formed spacers of one tier abutting and supporting an immediately overlying tier. The spacers provide the belt stack with increased lateral stability to prevent destacking while permitting air flow therethrough comparable to prior art spiral belts without spacers and supported by rails.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1993Date of Patent: September 27, 1994Assignees: Cambridge, Inc., York Food Systems, Inc.Inventor: Michael L.
